I looked up. I had started drawing, well, scribbling, on the edge of my notebook. A scribble that resembled a tornado stared back at me when I finally blinked my eyes into focus. I'd only started scribbling to try and concentrate on something other than my table talking about Eric, because I didn't want to hear about it. "Yeah?"

"Seriously, if I were you, I wouldn't draw anything until Mr Tobias comes around. This is pretty much a free class today. You only need to talk to him for a couple of minutes."

Nahla raised her eyebrows. "She wasn't really drawing," she informed Chloe. I caught her eye and she studied me. Nahla always knew how to read me more often than I wanted her too. I didn't usually doodle unless I had something on my mind or I was angry. I loved art, but when I drew, my drawings had more meaning; they were less irrational. I hated to scribble and call it art.

"Right." Chloe replied, flicking her hair over her shoulder again. "I wonder if he'd been to Paris. They have that really great art gallery there. The Lover?"

"Really, Chloe?" Troy replied. "It's the Louvre. And it's not a gallery, it's a museum."

"I don't know - I was just going by The Di Vinci Code."

Troy shook his head. "There are some great art galleries here."

"Like the Gallery Imports?"

"No, there's that really nice one down near the big multiplex." Troy responded matter-of-factly.

"Toviyyah?" Nahla guessed. "Darcy goes there often. Right, Darcy? That's where I picked you up from yesterday."

"Right." I replied quickly. Suddenly, the information hit me and I hadn't recognised it before. Toviyyah was the Biblical Hebrew version of Tobias. He really did own that art gallery. My eyes scanned my friends' on the table, but neither of them seemed to have realised the connection between Eric and the art gallery they were referring to. Although I didn't blame them, they weren't actually told, like me, that he was the boss of the gallery they were referring to.

"Darcy?" Chloe said again, waving a hand in front of my face. "Seriously, why do you keep spacing out? What's up with you?"

"Maybe she's swooning." Nahla laughed.

"Or," Troy waggled his eyebrows. "Maybe she had a late night. Darcy, did you have a late night?"

"She was with me the whole night, actually." Nahla replied.
