He stated that the matter was far from simple. Mr. Abis had previously informed him that a laboratory had produced a one-to-one android replica of Emmy, and that very android had long ago fallen into James's hands.

Narrowing his eyes like a venomous snake, Hector expressed his surprise that James had managed to send a message out despite their complete blackout of all communication signals on the Delta coast. Emmy's eyes turned cold. She unceremoniously reached out and snatched the pearl right back. She firmly informed the Major General that the pearl was not meant for him. Slipping the jewel into the pocket of her windbreaker, she stood up and announced she was going to find the girl.
