I didn’t let it bother me and just headed to work.

Before quitting time, my mom called.

"The date has been arranged. I'll text you the restaurant details. Don't dare stand this poor guy up!"

"Got it, Mom. I'm adding it to my calendar right now."

To my surprise, I spotted David and Tyler at the exit.

I quickly hung up and walked over to them. "Hey, what brings you guys here?"

"Just wrapped up a business deal nearby. I'd grab you for a celebration meal."

I deliberately avoided meeting Tyler's gaze. When we headed to the cars, I went straight for David's car without hesitation.

Tyler looked annoyed but still kept quiet.

At the restaurant, we had just ordered when David suddenly perked up with a mischievous grin.

"So I heard Mom set up that blind date for you. You're actually going through with it?"

As soon as he finished, Tyler's hand trembled, nearly dropping his glass. He looked at me in shock. "What blind date?"

I ignored him completely and turned to David.

"Of course. I wasn't joking before."

Tyler let out a humorless laugh, like he'd finally snapped. "Emma, I'm still breathing. What the hell are you going on blind dates?"

David looked confused. "What's that mean? Why do you even care?"

"She's my girlfriend. You tell me if I am part of this?"

He looked at me, waiting for me to acknowledge our relationship.

I said nothing.
