Annie's P.O.V.

I looked forward to seeing Evan all morning. He was the only person who was nice to me now, ironically enough. No one else looked at me with kindness. Not even my own mother. I don't know what changed his attitude toward me but I wasn't going to complain!

I finished all of my chores and headed to his house. Good thing he lived across the street so I didn't have to worry about getting a ride.

I rang the doorbell and waited. No answer.

But just as I proceeded to ring it again the door opened. I got flustered as his mom opened the door instead of him.

"Little Annie! Fancy seeing you here!" she exclaimed.

"I came to see Evan," I said and looked down shyly. His mother is so beautiful.

"Come on in," she said and opened the door wider. I came inside and looked around for him but he was nowhere in sight.

"Why don't you go on upstairs? He is probably in his room. I have to go to work so you two will be alone," she paused. "No funny business, alright?" she added.

I blushed even harder. How can she say it so easily? "Y...yes ma'am," I said.

"Good girl. Well, I am off. You two have a good time," she said and headed out the door.

I hesitated before going upstairs. Would he be okay with me coming inside his room like that? Even though I practically slept in his arms, I was still unsure about what we meant to each other. I gathered up the courage and headed upstairs.

I lightly knocked on his door but no one answered so I went inside. I heard noises coming from the bathroom indicating he was taking a shower. So that's why he didn't answer.

I looked around the room. It was messy again. I am surprised he didn't ask me to clean it as his errand girl. I started to pick up his clothes and clean the room as a force of habit. I picked up a shirt off of his table and paused when I saw a little furry key chain, shaped like a dog. I picked it up to take a closer look. Why does this look so familiar?

"Find something interesting?"

I yelped and dropped the key chain. Evan was right behind me, speaking into my ears. I bent down to pick up the key chain but he grabbed my waist and turned me around.

I turned my head in embarrassment as he was wearing nothing but a towel. Droplets of water were dripping off of his hair and trailing down his chest. To think he lectured me about wet hair last night!

"Hey, sorry I was just picking up your room a little," I said nervously. I couldn't take my eyes off his chest. I never realized how muscular he was underneath his clothes. Is this why girls at our school like him so much?

"Oh? Or were you snooping around and looking through my stuff? Bad girl," he whispered in my ears, sending shivers down my spine.

"NO! I thought I'd clean it for you," I said quickly.

He smiled. "I am just teasing you," he said and grazed my cheek with his hand. I loved and hated his touches at the same time as they made my body feel hot and weird.

"Are you feeling better? Because last night..." he started to say.

"I don't want to talk about last night," I said quietly.

"But your mom was hurting you. Why don't you tell someone?" he said, looking concerned.

Evan groaned and ran downstairs. "I AM COMING, YOU MORON!" I heard him yell and giggled to myself.

Pretty soon, I heard voices coming from downstairs so I curiously headed there to see who it was.

Mike was standing at the bottom of the steps, grinning ear to ear. Evan stood next to him with a murderous look on his face.

"ANNIE! It's me, your new best friend!" he yelled and threw his arms around me and wrapped me into a bear hug.

"Get your filthy hands off of her!" Evan barked.

"I have missed you," Mike said, completely ignoring Evan who was crossing his arms now.

"Hi Mike. It's good to see you again," I said and gave him a shy smile.

"Well, my buddy here told me you were coming over today so I couldn't resist. I don't have your number so I couldn't ask you to hangout myself. Which reminds me, can I have your number?" he asked.

"NO!" Evan declared.

"Pweese? We are friends, right?" Mike gave me the puppy eyes.

"S...sure," I said hesitantly. Evan glared at me.

Oops...I am in trouble now, aren't I?
