Annie's P. O. V.
"You seemed a little flushed honey, are you getting sick?" Evan's mom asked me in the morning.
"Um...no I feel fine," I said. In reality, I was feeling hot and flustered. But not because I was sick, but because Evan was sitting next to me. Our shoulders were touching and he was holding my hand inside his fist. How can act so casual after we did those things last night while I'm over here dying because the memory of it kept coming back.
I was surprised he didn't try to have sex with me. Does he not want to?
"Are you nervous about meeting your grandmother?" Stacy asked.
I shook my head no. Okay I was lying. I was terrified.
"Good. She seemed alright when I spoke on the phone with her. I'm sure things will work out for you," she said.
I hoped so too.
It was too late in the semester to change my classes to accommodate my disability so I was to go to my regular classes. All I could do was listen. The principal assigned a student aid to assist me to my classes. I hope she was nice.
I sat there in the principal's office and waited. I wondered who it was.
"Annie!"
My heart skipped a beat when I recognized the voice. Mike?
Our Principal Dr. Bucks cleared his throat. "Annie, this is Micheal Williams. He will be your aid for the rest of the school year," he said.
"What...how..." I started to say.
"I'll take it from here. Let's go Annie," Mike took my hand and we got out of the office.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Well, I'm a senior so I get to do this for extra credit. So I requested Dr. Bucks so I get to hang out with you," he held my hand and squeezed it.
I felt protected being around someone I knew. But how will Evan react to this?
Mike's P. O. V.
I had to pull some strings to become Annie's aid. But it was worth it. I was able to take her to her classes and be with her in between periods. Too bad I couldn't stay with her in class since I had my own classes to go to.
"Um...I don't know if Evan would like me hanging out with you so much," Annie said and fidgeted uncomfortably.
"I know he is helping you a lot but he doesn't get to dictate your life," I said.
"I know, but still," she looked down and blushed.
My heart twitched. She seems different. Mentioning Evan made her face glow and I didnt like that.
"Did something happen between you two?" I asked, not really wanting to hear the answer.
"Um...nothing. Lets go to the class," she said.
I could tell she was hiding something. Jealousy welled up inside me. Deep down I was hoping Evan wasn't serious about her. I may be mean for thinking this but I wanted him to keep acting like a jerk so she wouldn't like him the way she does now.
Fuck...guess I'll have to somehow win her over, fair and square.
"You gonna be alright?" I leaned down and whispered in her ears.
"Yes. Thank you for doing this. I feel more comfortable knowing its you who will be assisting me," Annie smiled.
"Me too," I said and ran my fingers through her hair. "I'll come get you after class."
"Okay," she said quietly.
"You think if you spend more time with Annie she will suddenly like you more and you'll have the chance to change her mind about me," he said.
"You are smarter than I thought," I said and smirked.
"Well you are too late, she is already mine," he said.
I didn't like the way he said it. He looks smug.
"What does that supposed to mean? Did you guys..."
"That's none of your business," he said before I could finish. "Just know that she likes me a lot and she'll fall in love with me eventually. So stay out."
"You can't tell me what to do," I snarled.
"Besides, she might be leaving this state soon. Chances are, she'll be out of reach from both of us," he said grimly.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" I looked at him in shock. I moved closer to him.
"I can't keep her here forever. And neither can you. So I'm going to spend as much time as possible with her because she belongs to me! Stay the fuck away from us or I'll beat you to a pulp!" he said.
"She is leaving out of state?" I was shocked. "Then you can't keep me away from her."
Evan grabbed my collar. "I am warning you," he said with gritted teeth.
"Let go of me you bastard," I said harshly.
"Then promised me you'll stay away," he said.
"No," I said and pushed him.
I heard a loud thudding noise, followed by a sharp pain on my face. That asshole punched me!
