Evan's P.O.V.

I drove her back to our neighborhood and parked the car. She wasn't crying anymore but she had a grim expression on her face.

"You didn't have to scare him like that," she said quietly.

"What, you are still worried about that bastard? Forget about him. He is an asshole for picking some rando chick over you," I said irritably.

"I don't blame him. Megan is a lot prettier than me and she doesn't look like a dork with glasses," she said and looked away.

"Megan is a bimbo," I said matter of factly.

"You don't even know what she looks like! She is really pretty," she said.

"Are you trying to date Brent or Megan?" I smirked.

"Neither," she sighed. "I don't want to date Brent anymore," she whispered.

I felt relieved. It would be hard to have her as my errand girl if she has a boyfriend hanging around her all the time. I needed her all to myself.

"What do you care anyway? You only let me come near you because I do chores for you," she pouted.

I reached over and took off her glasses to stare into those beautiful hazel eyes. Yeah, what do I care anyway? It wasn't like we were friends.

"Yeah you are right about that," I said. I looked at her closely. She was wearing the dress I gave her. It hugged her body perfectly and was slightly snug on the chest. I knew what would look good on her since I saw her million times a week. She had her messy curly hair piled up into a bun. But because of those glasses, her face looked even smaller and rounder.

Adorable.... the word came into my mind.

"You look good in that dress. See, I told you!" I smirked.

"I do?" she looked at me with surprise. "You are just saying that to make me feel better," she said quietly and looked away.

"Do I look the kind of person who goes around complimenting chicks? I don't just say shit for no reason, okay? If I said you look good. then you look pretty damn good!" I said irritably. "And I don't give a fuck about how you feel little hamster," I announced.

"But then why did you tell Brent I was cute and sweet?" she looked at me curiously.

"I was just throwing random words at him. I don't think you are cute at all. With your dorkass giant glasses. Now stop asking me questions," I said.

"No...I was just saying..." I started to say but stopped as she suddenly grabbed my bun and yanked it as hard as she could.

"Ahhh! OW! That really hurt mommy!" I screamed. It felt like she ripped all of my hair out as the sharp pain engulfed me.

"You think you can do whatever you want in this house you little bitch?" she screamed in my ears, not letting go of my hair.

"No mom, please. I didn't mean that. I never said that!" I cried.

She pushed me towards the staircase and let go of my hair. I fell and hit my head on the wooden railing. It must've been a hard hit because I was seeing stars. I checked my glasses Evan gave me. It wasn't broken. Thank god.

"Go upstairs and lock yourself in your room. I don't want to see your ugly face the rest of the night," she barked.

Good. That works just fine for me, I thought, and dragged myself upstairs. This night just went from bad to kind of good to bad again. I just can't catch a break, can I?

I looked at myself in the mirror. What a mess! My hair was disheveled, tears stained my face. I got a cut on my forehead from falling on the wooden railing. It was slightly bleeding. I slowly washed my face and cleaned my wound.

Just a few more years, then I get to leave this hell hole, I thought.
