Annie's P.O.V.
How long have I been asleep? I had no idea. I remembered my eyelids feeling heavy as soon as I put my head on Evan's pillow. I should probably go home.
I didn't want to open my eyes. I felt so warm and comfortable.
"Are you planning on getting the fuck off of me anytime soon? I can't feel my arm," Evan said.
Evan? Why did he sound like he was right next to me? I opened my eyes and my heart stopped. I was practically laying on top of him, using his arm as a pillow! OH MY GOD!
I quickly got up. "S...sorry, I fell asleep," I said nervously. Was he mad at me? How long did we lay like that?
"I need to go home!" I said.
"Just chill out, alright?" Evan said irritably. "Why are you always rushing to places? No wonder you are so clumsy."
He took my hand and dragged me into the kitchen.
"Sit," he pointed at the chair so I obliged. "What do you want to eat?" he asked.
"I'm not that hungry. I can go home then eat," I said meekly even though I knew Evan wouldn't listen to me. He never does.
"Tell me what you want or you get what I give you," he said irritably.
Ugh...why is he always forcing me to eat? Just let me go home already!
"Um...I want pasta!" I told him the first thing that came to my mind.
He nodded. What is he going to do? Order takeout? Pretty sure he doesn't have every kind of food laying around here.
But to my utter shock, he put on an apron and started to take food ingredients out of the cabinets. No way, he is going to cook for me? Did he make all those other food he brought me? But why...
"Wait...Evan! You don't have to go through the trouble. I don't have to have pasta. I'll just go home and eat," I said and got up.
"Sit your little butt back down on the chair," Evan glared and pointed his spatula at me.
"But..." I hesitated.
"SIT THE FUCK DOWN HAMSTER," he roared. I dropped my butt back on the chair like he asked. Damn, he is scary.
"Good girl. Now I don't want to hear one more word about going home, got it?" he looked at me intently.
"Yessir!" I screeched.
His lips curled into a small smile and he continued to cook.
I scarfed down the pasta hungrily. I can never eat this well at home. Most of the days I spent eating the small amount of leftovers or junk food. My mom doesn't like to cook and ate out most of the time. She'd bring me leftovers sometimes but won't let me eat too much so I don't get fat.
I paused as I realized I was eating like a pig. Oh God, Evan must think I'm disgusting.
"Why did you stop? You full?" he narrowed his eyes.
"Yeah, thank you for the meal," I said quietly.
He smiled and shrugged. "Hamsters gotta eat," he said.
"Do you always feed me because you think of me as your pet?" I went ahead and asked. I'm positive that was the case.
Evan looked at me for a few moments as if to decide whether he should say yes or not. "You are absolutely correct, hamster."
"Yeah, so what? I thought you love bad boys," Evan smirked.
"It's true, I do," she said and wrapped her arms around his neck.
For some reason, I couldn't stand there and watch her touch him anymore. My heart hurt at the sight of him flirting with another girl. I ran off.
I didn't go see him during lunch and hid inside the classroom. He'll probably go have lunch with Lily anyway.
The final bell rang and it was time to go home. I got out of the building and started to walk fast. I needed to be home soon.
But before I made it to the street, someone grabbed my arm.
"Where are you going?" Evan said with his burning gaze.
"Home! School is over," I stated the obvious.
"Where were you during lunch?" he demanded to know.
"Who cares where I was? Weren't you with Lily anyway?" I snapped. "Or did you expect me to wait after her too?" my glasses were fogging up. Why am I getting so emotional?
He stood there and stared at me for a moment. His hand on my arm tightened.
"So that's what it's about. Little hamster is jealous of Lily," he said.
"I...am not jealous. Why would I be jealous?" my voice shook.
He didn't say anything nor did he let me go. "Don't ditch me at lunch again," he said in a low and husky voice. "Don't make me eat alone. I don't like that," he added.
He makes my heart race and I don't like it.
