I lifted the bouquet closer, breathing in the soft perfume of the roses before setting them carefully on the dresser beneath the mirror. Tucked between the folds was a cream envelope, waiting to be opened.

I swallowed, heat spreading inside me. I loved when he looked at me like this, like I was the only air he wanted to breathe.

“You look like danger,” he murmured.

“Danger?” I arched my brow, playful, even as my pulse quickened. “What kind?”

His lips curved with slow arrogance. “The most daring kind. The kind you warn yourself to stay away from but can’t resist. The kind you’d get lost in, again and again.”

Before I could respond, Gabriel pulled me closer, my breasts pressing against his hard chest. I wasn’t wearing a bra, and the friction of my dress against my skin had my nipples tightening instantly, hard peaks brushing him. A shiver darted through me, and I let out a breathy laugh to keep from moaning.

“Gabriel…” I whispered, pressing a hand against his chest as though to steady myself. “We’re outside.”

He bent his head, his lips grazing the curve of my neck before he nuzzled against my skin. The warmth of his breath sent fire rushing through me.
