In this standout chapter of the Novel novel Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan), Lucy introduces new challenges, powerful emotions, and major plot progress that captivate readers from beginning to end.

The fact that she was tested with Georgia, only for Gabriel to immediately suggest Sylvia was Georgia's daughter—it all seemed too well-prepared, making her deeply suspicious.

Old Mr. Quintin tried to soothe her. “Evelyn, you’re upset right now, which is why you’re letting your imagination run wild.”

Evelyn looked at Old Mr. Quintin, a dark glint in her eyes. Before, whenever she spoke about Sylvia, he had always believed her. But now, before the test was even done, he was already starting to favor Sylvia.

Old Mr. Quintin continued, “Don’t worry. Even if you’re not my biological granddaughter, you can still stay in this home, and you can still call me Grandpa.”

Hearing that Old Mr. Quintin had changed the form of address, Evelyn’s heart sank further, but she forced a smile. “Thank you… Grandpa. You’re so good to me.”

Old Mr. Quintin smiled kindly. “We’ve grown fond of each other, you and I. If you want to find your parents, Grandpa will help you. If you don’t, then this is your home.”

Evelyn was moved to tears, nodding repeatedly. Then she asked worriedly, “But what if Sylvia really is Georgia's daughter? Will she let me stay?”

Old Mr. Quintin chuckled. “If she's really a Quintin, she'll be just as kind as her mother. Why wouldn't she have room for you?”

Evelyn managed a small smile, but a chill spread through her heart.

She didn't dare say anything more against Sylvia. All she could do was hope that tomorrow's test results would be the same as today's.

Gabriel dropped Sylvia off at her apartment building. As she prepared to get out, she said, “Thank you for the ride.”

“Just a thank you?” Gabriel glanced at the darkened sky outside. “It’s late. You should invite me in for dinner.”

Sylvia settled back into her seat. “Alright. What would you like to eat?”

“Anything you make is fine,” the man said.

Sylvia met his gaze for a few seconds. “All I have is instant noodles.”

Gabriel opened everything, frowning. “Is this what you normally eat?”

Sylvia paused for a moment before replying, “Not always.”

The broth and ribs went into the pot, and a rich aroma soon filled the air. Sylvia found two eggs in the fridge, fried them until they were golden-brown on both sides, and placed one in each of their noodle bowls. The meal actually looked quite appetizing.

They sat opposite each other, eating in silence.

The scene felt strangely familiar.

Though it was a pre-packaged meal, the ribs were tender and flavorful, the broth was rich, and it was all quite delicious.

After finishing her noodles, Sylvia was spooning up the last of the soup when she looked up and asked, “Did you ask me to come over today just to keep Georgia from leaving?”

“No,” the man replied flatly. He put down his utensils, took a napkin, and leisurely wiped his lips. He looked at her. “I’ve suspected your connection to Georgia for a while. With Evelyn in the picture, it wasn’t the right time to say anything. Now that the test has shown she isn't Georgia's daughter, your relationship can be confirmed out in the open.”
