Estelle knew Magdalen was under a lot of stress, so she didn't want to be too hard on her. "If there's something you don't want to do, just talk it over with Morrison. He'll understand. But when it involves both of you, you can't make all the decisions on your own."

Magdalen offered a sheepish, apologetic smile. "I was just being stubborn this one time. I promise it won't happen again!"

"Where's Kya?" Estelle asked, looking around.

"She wanted ice cream," Emily replied, "so Henson took her across the street to grab some."

Magdalen turned her head just in time to see Henson carrying Kya back from the shop across the street. The handsome teenager walked with a relaxed, confident stride, effortlessly holding the little girl in one arm while carrying a bag of treats in the other.

Magdalen sighed dreamily. "Give it a few years, and Henson is going to break so many hearts."

Estelle laughed. "Why wait a few years? His backpack is already stuffed with love letters every single day."

Whenever she tutored him on the weekends, she would routinely open his textbooks only for a scented pink envelope to flutter out. Half the time, Henson didn't even know when the girls had slipped them in.

"Love letters?" Magdalen clicked her tongue. "These girls are entirely too romantic."

As they spoke, Henson pushed open the door and began passing out the ice cream. Sara and the rest of the group quickly thanked him.

He handed Estelle her absolute favorite: chocolate caramel.

Magdalen looked even more impressed. "It's bad enough he's strikingly handsome, but he's thoughtful and sweet, too. Ella, do you think it's too late for me to pop out a daughter right now and claim Henson as my future son-in-law?"

Emily chimed in with a laugh, "You'd better hurry!"

"I'll keep an eye on him for you," Estelle joked. "I'll make sure he's not allowed to date until your daughter turns eighteen!"

Magdalen high-fived her. "It's a deal!"
