Downtown, at Ironwood Bar, Leander had just changed into his work uniform when the bar owner walked toward him.

The owner was a young woman with a pretty face.

She had some connections with underground figures around Downtown, so things had always gone smoothly for her here. Almost no one dared to cause trouble in the bar, and business was good.

“Leander, move a little faster. Finish cleaning up, we’re about to open. It’s the weekend, so there’ll be more customers than usual.”

She called out to him as he stepped out of the changing room.

He had been here for almost a month, and he was already used to being ordered around.

Leander swung the mop and carefully cleaned the bar floor.

Three hours had passed in the blink of an eye. It was already 7:30 p.m., and customers had started to come in.

After working nonstop for three hours, he finally found a moment to rest. He was about to head back to the changing room to fix his clothes when the boss‘ voice rang out again.

“Leander, table twenty–three is ready to order. Go take care of them.”

The boss clearly treated him like cheap labor, but Leander didn’t care. He just nodded and walked over.

Table twenty–three was in the center area. It was spacious and close to the middle of the bar. Four lively young girls were sitting there.

Even though she wore big, black–framed glasses and had changed her hair color, he recognized her at a glance.

It was Rachel, the campus beauty of Ember University.

She was standing right in front of him now, smiling brightly. Even though she had disguised herself, it meant nothing to him.

He found it a little strange.

Three hours ago, he had just parted ways with Billy and her. After dinner, they should have gone to places like karaoke or a club.

Why is she here?

Rachel seemed to notice his confusion and smiled as she explained.

“This afternoon, thanks to you and Billy stepping in, I got out of trouble. I already thanked “him, so I should thank you too.

“You left quickly, so I asked him where you work. I came here to support you and help you earn some tips. It’s just a small gesture.”

“Even though Billy already told me your name, we haven’t really met properly yet. So, let’s fix that now.” She smiled softly. “Hi, I’m Rachel.”

The three girls with her looked shocked.

They couldn’t believe it.

There were countless guys pursuing Rachel. They could practically form a whole group.

It was always others trying to get to know her, yet they had never seen her take the initiative to approach a guy, let alone offer a handshake first.
