---- Wolfgang's POV ----
We were currently on our way back to our pack's village in our wolf form. In case your wondering? Yes, Aurora got away with it. In fact, she left me no room for discussion when she got up and left at the break of dawn not before thanking alpha Magnar and the rest of the pack members.
We've been running in the woods, swerving between trees for the past fifteen hours. I'm amazed at her stamina. She doesn't stop surprising me.
Even though I'd rather keep her safe and gone back to Ileana by train, she was right about the hindrance it'd be on our return. The idea of something or someone targeting the were-kind is very alarming and I need to get to the bottom of this. Still, the need to keep my mate safe is greater and I can't help to worry about her safety.
Out here we are a bigger target for whatever is kidnapping our kind, especially Aurora in her majestic white fur shift and those tantalizing eyes.
I couldn't help but admire her beautiful wolf form. How did I not realize that she was the epitome of perfection?
"Alpha!" She growled dragging me out of my train of thoughts. "I'd appreciate if you avoided the uncomfortable thoughts lingering in your mind about me. And stop calling me your mate."
Crap. The mind-link.
"Forgive me Aurora. But you are my mate Aurora. And the future Luna of the blood moon pack. It's about time you start accepting it." I answered to which she did a sudden stopped on her hind legs and turned right back at me, snapping her fangs at me.
"When the fuck are you going to get it in your thick skull. I'm not your mate! I'll never be!" She growled at me as she bared her fangs.
"I'm not rejecting you Aurora. We are mates. The moon goddess mates us for a reason. I failed to see it at first but now I know clearly the reason behind it. I fucked up big time by treating you the way I did and I'd give this and the next five hundred lives to redeem myself before you." I told her with the out-must sincerity.
She stood in silence before me a couple of minutes before she finally huffed and turned around to keep on her way.
"Believe me. Five hundred years wouldn't be enough." She said before dashing off at full speed once more.
She was right. It still wouldn't be enough.
We kept running in complete silence making only occasional stops at rivers beds to quench our thirst, catch a wild rabbit or a boar to eat and keep on.
Forty-eight hours later we were finally crossing the village gates and on our way to the packs house.
I shifted before the door as the guards opened them for us but I almost missed my step when I heard Aurora whine from behind me. When I turned, I caught her glaring at me before shaking her head and dashing through the now open doors and straight to the maid's quarters.
---- Aurora's POV ----
"I never had the opportunity to do it." I answered.
The cook then rapidly came up to me as he bowed his head, showing his neck in submission to me.
"Forgive me lady Aurora for threaten you with a weapon. It wasn't my intention to harm the future Luna." He said to me.
"Don't worry about it. I am also at fault for coming in this way knowing well that none of you other than the alpha knew my shift and I'm still not ready to be seen naked by others. I apologize for startling you all." I said to them as well.
"Lady Aurora. Did the alpha come back with you? We weren't expecting you both back for a couple more days." Remus said to which I nodded.
"Yes, gamma Remus. He must be in his room getting some clothes as well. I insisted we came back in our wolf since it'd be faster. It is really true our people are been kidnapped?" I asked him as we started walking back to the main corridor and up till the second floor to the alpha's office.
"Yes, lady Aurora. So far we have eight members of the pack reported as missing while they were on the outskirts of the packs land." He said to which I nodded.
This is more serious than I thought. Eight of our warriors and seekers reported missing is very alarming.
