--- Aurora's POV ---
You guys are probably wondering what happened last night after I met Emma at the station. Well, after the shock of them both finding out there are mated, the bond went into full action and they were practically all over their selves. Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited at the thought that the two persons I cherish like siblings are mated to each other, but I still couldn't help to feel a bit jealous of how quick the bond got them together.
Emma at firsts was reluctant to accept that Maximus was her mate, since he was well known for being a womanizer, but I guess the sincerity is Max's eyes and the mate bond were more than enough for her to give it a chance.
Now we are all here at the pack house having a little celebration for the new couple, Aspens idea, might I add. She just kept going on about us having to celebrate that the female population will be at ease now that Max has found his mate.
Miss Kala had the kitchen staff prepare some snacks. Needless to say, the house was brimming with excitement over the fact that the beta has finally found his mate.
"I wonder if this would have been the way the pack would have acknowledge me if Wolfgang had accepted me as his mate the moment we found out." Rhea said as she cocked her head one side.
"Yeah. I pretty much doubt that." I said as I took a sip of the drink I was holding in my hand.
"Oh c'mon Rory. People love you for who you are. They acknowledge you as their Luna." Rhea piped in as she wagged her tail.
"They only acknowledge me as their Luna because I killed Klaus. Other than that, I would still be a nameless maid to all of them." I said to her.
I watched how Emma and Max chatted with everyone, hand in hand. It was as if they were made to be. I saw Emma's mom and dad approach them and she said something to them both that made Emma blush profusely. Max chuckled but he squeezed her in his embrace and gave a gentle kiss on her forehead as she her body molded into his.
My heart suddenly felt heavy. I shouldn't be feeling like this. I should be happy my best friend found her mate, but here I am in a corner drinking juice and eating my sorrows away at the snack table, wishing Wolfgang had treated me the way Max does with Emma the moment he found out we were mates.
"Where is he by the way? He said he'd be back today." Rhea asked as I stuffed myself with mini sandwiches.
"How should I know? In fact, why are you even bringing him up?" I asked her annoyed. The last thing I need right now is to wonder where he could be.
"Rory, what's up? You've practically taken over the snack bar and don't even get .me started on the deathly aura you're emanating. No one dares to come close "cause they're afraid you'll eat them alive." Aspen said as she stood next to me with her hands folded before her.
"What do you mean? Nothing's wrong." I answered her.
"If you say so. Don't forget that we are your friends and we're here for you if something is bothering you. Let us know right away. Remus, Max, Emma and I will always be ready to support you, no matter what." She said as she patted my shoulder.
"Thanks Aspen. I'll keep it in mind." I gave her a reassuring smile which she returned before walking back to the crowd.
I turned around and leaned my hands on the table as I let a frustrating sigh escape. One low enough that I hope no wolf, specialty Aspen heard. At that moment, I raised my head and looked out the window to the backyards deep forest. It seemed so lonely and eerie out there and I felt as if someone was watching me. That's when I caught a glimpse of blonde just before it ran back deeper into the woods.
"Tallulah?" I mentally questioned myself.
"What's she doing here?" Rhea growled.
"I don't know, but it's dangerous for her to be out in the woods. We still haven't identified who is abducting the weekend." I said to her.
"Oh please. If they abduct her, they'd be doing the were kind a favor." Rhea replied as she rolled her eyes.
