"I think you want to ask something?" He said, the wicked smirk again making its presence.
"N-no," I said.
"Don't lie, you know?" he said. "I'm dangerous," he said in a really dangerous tone.
"I... I want to meet my family..." I said.
"Oh really?" he said and chucked. "They're safe as long as you're not with them," he said.
"N-no don't h-hurt them," I said.
"I won't," he said. "As long as you do what I say" he added.
"P-please answer my... one question," I said finally with courage.
"Yes?"
"Wh-y did you... uh... do that..." I said.
"Do what, Corazon?"
"uh... I mean I was ready to m-marry you, I-I mean... Why did you lie?"
"Ah. That's the fun, babes. You wouldn't be so much into your marriage if you knew it was me" he said. "The groom changed at the last moment, didn't it?" he said and chuckled.
I didn't reply. I wanted to ask so many questions. But I can't. He has some mental health issues; he can change any second.
"Now. Come with me" he said. I looked at him in fear.
Did I do something wrong?
"uh... S-sir"
"NOW" he yelled.
I didn't know what the hell was going on!
Hailey's POV
"Come with me" he yelled. "NOW"
With trembling legs, I tried to follow him, but my legs had already given up, they just didn't move. He looked at me one more time, before taking my hand, rather harshly and dragging me all the way downstairs.
He took me to some corridor, and the name of the last room of it took my soul with immense fear.
Torture Room.
"S-sir?" I asked.
"Don't worry Corazon, this time it isn't for you. But, I... uh... guessed you should get a glimpse of the one you're living with. Open the door" he said.
I looked at him with complete fear, and then I took a step forward. All the possibilities of the worst things started rushing in my mind.
What could be inside? Some room filled with blood? Just shut the fuck Hailey, you're now scaring yourself. He's not a murderer...
Oh, sure he is! He almost killed Alex!
I think I'm confused with myself. I need time to think about everything. I think-
My face paled, my heartbeat raced, and my eyes welled up in tears at his words.
"So, open the door now," he said calmly. He went a little backward, giving me space to get away from the door and finally open it.
With a creaking sound, it opened.
Yes, it did make a creaking sound this time.
Or maybe I was hallucinating.
The room was dark, I couldn't see a single thing. But my other senses became numb when the smell hit me.
Raw blood.
Even with those numb senses, I was getting a more and more clear picture of what was going on, because the next thing I heard made me run away from the door.
Deafening cries and screams.
But before I could run away clearly, Robert pulled my hand and I landed on his chest.
"At least wait for a little, Corazon," he said and I started crying. Those noises and that smell was making me want to throw up or at least I wanted to blackout at that instant.
I was feeling nauseated.
"Turn on the lights, Max," Robert said inside the room.
Infraction of seconds, the room was filled with light and the view caught me off guard.
A room filled with blood at different places. Different tools like knives, guns, and other weapons hanging on the walls, coated with raw blood. There was a man tied on the chair, who was bleeding profusely. On seeing precisely, I noticed that his fingers were cut off. There were three men in the room other than us. One of them was Max, I suppose. His hands were covered in blood and so were the others.
