"Didn't think I could make it alive" she replied with a fake smile.

"You're not dying so early"

"I guess," she said and tried to sit up.

"Hey, don't" I interrupted. "Just lay down peacefully"

"Okay" she replied and smiling, laid down more comfortably.

"Thank you" she suddenly spoke.

"Well... mostly, it was..."

"Was?"

"um... leave it" I hesitated.

"What? Tell me"

"um... It was Robert all along, who did everything" I told.

Her eyes widened, and fear encircled her face at the mention of his name.

"H-hey, don't be afraid," I said.

"Is he here?" she asked.

"Yes," I replied.

"Please send him in," she said surprising me. I thought she wanted to stay away from him.

"Okay... but are you sure?"

"Yes," she said, and nodding, I left the ward.

I found Robert standing restlessly outside. "Hey," I said.

He looked at me hopefully. "She wants to meet you"

"Really?" he asked raising both of his eyebrows.

"Yes"

He nodded, and with a smile, he went inside the ward.

I decided to leave the hospital.

Robert's POV

I was really surprised and happy at the same time when she asked me to meet her. I mean... I thought that she'd never want me to meet her ever again.

I went inside and closed the door behind me.

I didn't speak anything and went near her. She looked at me and smiled.

I looked at her skeptically. Was she really smiling looking at me?

"Hey, Robert," she said.

"H-Hailey... how are you?"

"Good" she replied.

I nodded.

So, she isn't angry?

She isn't mad at me?

She doesn't hate me!?

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

"You want to make it up to me for what you did, don't you?" she asked.

I am really taken aback by the straightness of her questions.

"Yes," I replied.

"Then... trust me"

How can someone be like her?

I... I mean, all she still wants is for me to trust her?

How does that even matter to her? That I trust her or not?

"Then... you'll not hate me?" I asked.

"I don't hate you now either. It's just... like that"

"Okay... okay, I trust you"

She smiled bigger and nodded. "Thanks"

I didn't know what was happening, and I can't understand this woman.

"What?" I asked.

"Oh, I mean, there's a man, he is waiting for you to get well from the very first day. From my observation, he hasn't eaten in days"

She left the ward and I was wondering who that man could be.

Alex?

Robert?

No, no-Robert couldn't be. It is most probably Alex, yes.

Alex entered the room and he told me that Robert has done everything for me to get well. I wanted to ask him about him, and I finally did. I am still scared of him, but if he's regretting, then I have to not hate him and to forgive him.

When he came inside, I looked at him. He really looked thinner, there were dark circles below his eyes and the dominant aura was long gone.

I talked to him normally and the astonishment in him didn't get unnoticed by me.

He left the room, and then I remembered that the nurse told me he hasn't eaten in days. I should probably ask him to eat.

He came back a minute later and smiled.

"You ate?" I asked. He looked at me and nodded.

"Yes"

"Really?"

"Y-Yes"

"I wanna eat with you. Bring food for both" I said. He nodded and went out.

He is following my words like that, and trust me, it feels weird.

He brought some food for me and for him. For me, it was a very simple food, like porridge.

I ate it, and I was good as any other day.

"I hope you get well soon," he said.

I smiled at him. "I am. Don't worry"

Robert's POV

One week later

"Finally," I said to myself and made my way towards the reception, to complete the formalities.
