"Hey" he turned towards me, a hand supporting his head.

"Hey" I acted confident.

"You love me?"

"Yes," I answered, although shocked by his out-of-the-blue question.

"Then" he laid down comfortably. "Tell me why were you at Ervin's house?"

Robert's POV

"There is news" Max called me.

I kept on walking out of my house while humming, "Hm"

"Ah... Mrs. Hailey... she was at Ervin's house"

"WHAT!?"

"Y-Yeah... I-I don't know anything else. The tracker in her purse showed that she stayed there for like half an hour and then she went to Apartment C and now... Apartment A"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes" 

"Okay" I cut the call and went back inside.

I am not mad at you for going there, Hailey.

But why didn't you tell me?

I am your husband.

I should know.

I went inside and ate the dinner made by the cook-- she was feeling ill, she didn't eat anything.

I went to the room at night and found her sleeping. Or maybe... she was awake.

I went to take shower and then laid beside her. I somehow sensed that maybe she was awake.

"Hey," I said and she opened her eyes.

"Hey"

"You love me?"

She was shocked by my sudden question but replied. "Yes"

"Then" I decided to confront her, so I laid down comfortably. "Tell me why were you at Ervin's house"

She looked at me wide-eyed and turned towards the other side. "I am sleepy" 

I didn't say anything for a second, but I could sense deep breaths from her.

"Hailey..." 

She didn't reply, but I could feel her deep breaths-- getting even heavier.

I turned her around and I saw a tear in her eye. I was shocked. 

Why is she crying?

"Hailey? What happened? Did he hurt you--"

"N-No" she replied and got a little away. 

"Then why?"

"I-I am afraid"

"Afraid? Why? Of whom are you afraid?" I asked but she just nodded her head in denial.

I went over her, with my weight on both of my sides and her face inches away. I could see her beautiful, mesmerizing eyes.

"Tell me," I said calmly, but she just denied it again.

"TELL ME DAMNIT!!" I lost it this time and yelled and she started crying. 

"YOU!! IT IS YOU WHO I AM AFRAID OF!!" She yelled back and I yanked back from her.

She started breathing heavily and in no time, she was hyperventilating. I rubbed her back until she recovered.

"Hailey... I-I..."

She raised her hand telling me to stop. "P-lease" 

"Then discuss in my presence or at least in my office" I got away.

"Okay!" she smiled.

We slept and waited for the next day.

Hailey's POV

It has been a long time.

Everything is going fine.

I never met Ervin from that day... and Robert is nothing but good.

I am happy. But something is bugging me. Robert still doesn't allow me to meet my mom.

"Please!!" I said to him at the dining table and he sighed.

"I told you, no" he kept on eating.

I took the spoon from his hands.

"You are gonna feed me?" he raised an eyebrow.

"In your dreams!" 

I looked at him with puppy eyes. "Please, Robert, pretty please!"

"No means no, pretty queen"

I sighed and got up. "I am not gonna eat until--"

He pulled me on his lap and kept a hand around my waist. I was facing him and our faces were only inches away.

He suddenly stole a kiss and as a desperate woman... I gave in and kissed him back.

He backed off with a smirk and took the spoon from my hand.

"Watch" 

He took the food and started feeding me. 

Damn, I was so taken aback that I literally started eating.
