"Would you?"
The thought of having to down a Shifter's blood made my stomach lurch, let alone the monster that was sitting on top of me now. The first time I couldn't keep it down, and it took multiple tries for me to get enough in my system to heal me.
He touched the sore spot again and I hissed, baring my teeth. "Cara? Sire? What on earth is going on?" Alpha Jones asked incredulously, taking in the sight of his most spirited and headstrong member pinned, belly-up, under Dominic.
Dominic hauled me to my feet, unbothered by the fact he was stark naked. Shifters. The only people more comfortable in their bare skin than nudists.
"I ordered Caroline to attend the party. Warned her if she tried to escape. But she did it anyways. I called you here so we could speak of a suitable punishment, but I believe I've already come up with one," Dominic explained, patting my wet head like I was a child. "Yes, I know exactly how to handle this."
"No!" I wailed, limping to the other side of the doctor's room.
Dominic rolled his eyes and stormed after me. "Honestly, Caroline. It's not like it hurts. Come here."
I fumbled around for a weapon, grabbing a metal tray that usually held Doc's instruments, but was empty. I wielded it in front of me, like a shield, but Dominic just plucked it from my hands, tossing it onto the floor. My feet scrambled towards another corner of the room, but he caught me easily.
"Stop being dramatic."
He took my hand and dragged me back to the gurney, unaffected by how I dug my heels into the floor, whining for him to release me.
"Okay, princess, sit up here," he said, using his free hand to pat the hospital bed invitingly.
When I still battled against him, Dominic leaned forward and poked my injured hip, and I stopped fighting to sob in pain. He took my distraction to lift me onto the hospital bed, sitting in front of him, so we were almost eye to eye. He was still several inches taller than me, but the distance was shortened, at least.
I whimpered as he pulled out a scalpel from a nearby drawer, lifting it to the side of his neck. "Once I make the cut, you have to be quick, before it heals," he said simply.
"No, no! I can't. I'll throw up."
"You will not. It's just blood. It'll heal you."
I wiped at my face in embarrassment, trying to rid myself of the tears. "My little vampire," he cooed at me.
"W-what?" I croaked.
He grabbed the shiny metal tray I'd attempted to fight him off with earlier, lifting it to show my face.
Blood was smeared over my lips and beading at my chin, slowly dripping down grotesquely. The sight made my vision go black.
~ Later ~
When I felt myself coming to, I didn't dare open my eyes. I just prayed that when I finally did, I'd be staring up at my ceiling. It took me several minutes, but when I did, my stomach plummeted.
I was in the guest house bedroom. I wasn't even in my pack house.
