I sighed, frowning. "Are you giving me a choice?" I quizzed.

Dominic cupped my chin, lifting my gaze to his. "There always is a choice."

Snorting, I pulled my face from his grasp. "That is the biggest load of bullshit to ever come out of your mouth, and that's saying something. But really, I would really like to go to the cafe. I'll call you if I need anything, I promise."

"Or if you start to feel faint? In case the mark acts up again?"

I nodded, smiling hopefully. Dominic groaned and threw his head back. "As much as my wolf dislikes this, yes, of course. Go. But keep in contact with me. I could be over there in minutes if there is an emergency. And I have one condition."

With a sigh, I crossed my arms, already knowing exactly what he would ask for. "A kiss."

He smiled confidently, nodding. "A good one, please. To satisfy my wolf." Dominic wrapped an arm around my lower back, slowly dragging me up and against his chest. I hesitated slightly but allowed him to press our lips together. His free hand held my face tenderly while he tried to deepen the kiss, cheekily testing my bottom lip with his tongue. "Dominic," I grunted when I pulled back from him. He released a breathy chuckle as his kisses trailed down my throat, to his mark again.

My body's automatic response was to tense up, this time my hands clenching his top tightly. Dominic smiled against my skin and peppered a few more kisses before releasing me. "Alright, alright. I'm sorry, sugar, but I have work to do and you can't keep distracting me with kisses. Go to the cafe."

Normally the cafe meant peace and quiet for me. This time, it was crowded for most of the day. I remained for several hours, reading a book and messing around on my phone. Just as it finally calmed down, which wasn't until the afternoon sun started to create the golden glow of evening, the peace was ruined before it could even really start.

Someone plopped in the chair beside me. A guy around my age. Shifter. Undoubtedly part of Dominic's pack here, but he didn't seem to recognize me or care about the mark on my throat.

"Not interested," I said evenly, before he could even say a word, not looking up from my book, which I was extremely close to finishing.

The guy snorted, leaning back in his seat. "I wasn't going to hit on you. You looked new to the area and about my age. So I wanted to invite you to a party of mine tonight."

My gaze lifted to meet his and I raised a brow. "Interested."

"Oh, no thank you. But I'll take a water."

Shortly after showing me to the other drinks, Davey left to go find his booty call, who apparently had just walked in the door. I took my cup of ice water and went out to the back porch, surprised to see a jacuzzi and a pool. When I first saw it, I had a mini nightmare of someone throwing me in, but I quickly realized that no one really seemed to notice me, which I was quite pleased with.

It seemed most of the houses in this area were surrounded by trees. I leaned against the house and stared out at the trees, sipping my water. Once again, my peace was shattered by another boy.

He immediately invaded my personal space, instantly putting me off. "Hello, missy," he greeted, attempting some sort of a deep, silky voice.

"Hi," I said dryly, suspiciously.

"I'm Davey's older brother, Scott. He mentioned a pretty little lady coming here alone. A little human too," he claimed, holding his hand out to me, which I ignored.
