All the color drained from Scott's face. "N-no, sir. But I didn't sexually assault her. I'm sure she wanted it-"

"Who witnessed the altercation with the Luna and Scott?" Dominic demanded. At least a dozen hands lifted into the air. "Did the Luna tell him to stop?" Silence. "Did she tell him to stop?!"

A girl cleared her throat, stammering out her answer. "Yes, Alpha. She was crying and trying to push him off too. But he wouldn't," she claimed.

Jeff started to back away, letting me rest most of my weight against him. "Come, Luna. Let's get you settled-"

"No. I... I want to see this. I'm not going without Dominic."

He sighed heavily, shaking his head amusedly. "This is about to get pretty exciting. Just don't get in his way."

Dominic took a step closer to Scott. "For generations, when a male tried to obstruct a marking by sexual assault, they were castrated, by the woman he assaulted. Technically, this has not been outlawed by myself yet, but I have not encountered anyone deserving of that yet. Until tonight."

"Alpha Dominic, come on... You can't be serious. Lighten up, man. It was all just part of the fun and games of parties, right, Luna? You're alright. We were just playing-"

Jeff crossed his arms over his chest before stepping forward. "It is obvious from the Luna's current that the only one playing was you, Scott. And for that there will be severe punishment, that I can promise you," he said calmly before turning to Dominic. "Alpha, the Luna needs you right now. Take her home."

Dominic turned to look at me, his face immediately softening. "Yes. Let's go home, Caroline. C'mon, gorgeous." When he approached me, he protectively scooped me up into his arms without missing a step.

Jeff told Dom he was going to stay and take care of the party while getting Scott in place for trial the next day. Dominic didn't say much, just a grunt of agreement before setting me in his car. When he got in and began driving home, I reached out and touched his arm.

His jaw was clenched tightly, eyes burning with anger. "Are you mad at me?" I asked quietly.

His arms wrapped around my lower back, pulling me against him securely. "I know, sugar. You don't have to apologize this time. You didn't ruin anything. Just go shower and we will be right on track, yeah?" Just as I started to walk away, Dominic yanked me right back. "And we aren't done talking about what happened tonight. Understand?"

"I understand."

As soon as I wasn't in the same room as Dominic, the mark came back to life. Very painfully, too. I was so tired and humiliated that I only waited for half a minute before calling to Dominic. Naturally, he responded quickly and knew exactly what was going on.

"I'm not saying that I need you, but if you want me to get ready in time, maybe you should stay nearby to keep the pain at bay. Deal?" I grumbled.

Dom snickered, kissing my temple. "I guess I can hang around. You want me out here while you shower or...?"

I sighed, rubbing my face. "You can be in there, but please don't look at me. I... I don't think, emotionally or physically, I can handle trying to battle your advances tonight," I muttered tiredly.
