I walked downstairs into the kitchen. Adain turned and pulled me into his arms when he saw me. Hugging me tightly he let out a deep sigh.
"A pansy ass feline." He growled into my hair.
"They don't usually come into our area especially not the tigers. All tigers are arrogant assholes but their known for taking good care of their mates I guess he's the expectation. She's better off without him."
I nodded into his chest. "I know its just that Alyssa will always have Luke and Alicia won't have anyone."
"She'll be fine she's a strong little girl. Just like her mommy."
I smiled and kissed his chin. I ran my hand along his jaw. "You growing a beard out?"
"Why? Do you not like it, I can shave it off it you want me too. "
I shook my head. "No I like it, it makes you look all rugged."
He grinned pleased and slipped his arm around my shoulders tugging me into the living room where Adain's father was glaring at a nervous Luke.
I actually think Adain's father was worse than Adain himself. We'd brought Luke with us before but Ricardo, Adain's father still hadn't warmed up to Luke even though he's known Luke since he was five. Apparently he also knew about a couple of Luke's adventures when he was a teen and was now holding it against him. Ricardo still didn't think Luke was good enough for his granddaughter.
Alyssa was currently sitting on Lukes lap playing a game on his phone. It scared me how easy she'd learned to use the thing. Luke had installed a few baby games on his phone that could entertain Alyssa for hours.
She always seemed to be climbing on Luke one way or another.
Alyssa had finally gotten use to our routine with Luke. He'd usually stay with us until she fell asleep and then he'd leave to go home. When Alyssa woke up the next day she'd always ask where he was and I'd tell her he was at work. She'd get thoughtful then nod as if it was okay with her and she'd play with Alicia. When Luke show'd up around seven he always picked her up and threw her into the air before catching her to her delight. Luke even had a key to the house. He followed all of Adain's rules and was always sure to not make Adain uncomfortable.
Sometimes he even helped me cook dinner. I was quite positive Alicia's mate would never be close to Luke even if he did live here.
Luke had become just as part of my life as Adain and I considered him a good friend.
"So wheres that girlfriend you had Luke?"
Luke gulped and rubbed Alyssa's back as if to calm himself. "I broke up with her sir."
"Mmmmhm. So you plan on being celibate for the next 16 years."
Luke stared at him wide eyed. "I--I.."
"Dad I think that's enough." Adain grumbled turning on the tv and switching it too a football game.
Ricardo let it go but didn't stop narrowing his eyes at Luke.
Tearing up again I quickly pulled him into a tight hug.
"Hey everything okay?"
I turned to see Adain cautiously entering the room Alicia on his hip. I grinned at him and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Every things fine we were just having a chat."
"Really about what?"
"Stuff. You."
"All good I hope."
I raised an eyebrow. "Is there any bad I should know about?"
"Nope. Let go watch the game." He said quickly tugging me back to the living room. Laughing I let him knowing I could get stories out of Ricardo later.
"What should I get the girls for their birthday?" Adain asked pulling on a clean shirt. I pouted as his amazing chest was covered. I loved watching his muscles flex and ripple when he walked around shirtless. He'd just gotten out the shower and was now getting dressed before leaving for work.
When he was fully dressed he went to his knees between my legs and pushed my shirt up to lay kisses all over my belly. I smiled running my fingers through his wet hair, he always made it a point to talk to the baby before leaving for the day. Adain hadn't wanted me to work and I'd happily complied. I didn't like being away from the twins for long periods of times. Adain had confided in me that his job at the garage was something he did because he really enjoyed it not because he needed the money.
