Jason chuckled. "Sorry Nora," he said. "Only the alpha's mate has a second mate. You're going to be our one and only love."

"So that means that the wolf I don't pick will just be living his life heartbroken?" I wondered. Sure I hate werewolves, but seems a little harsh.

"Kind of," Jason said. Like he promised, he was still standing in the corner, not looking my way even once. Even Vincent couldn't do that. "When you pick me, Vincent will-"

"She's going to pick me!" Vincent yelled from the hall.

Jason growled, but continued. "When you pick your mate," he sneered, "the other one will still be around, but you won't see him."

"He'll be a ghost?" I asked.

Jason laughed. "No, he'll just be in the shadows pretty much, watching, but having no contact. Then if I die, Vincent will come to get you back. But if I live until we both die together, then Vincent will die alone."

"That's it!" Vincent yelled. "Shower's over!"

From there, the day just got worse.

I had wanted to just have a nice, relaxing day, but Jason and Vincent ruined that for me. After my awkward and informative shower, I planned to waste meaningless hours watching TV. I had lounged out on the sofa, taking the whole thing up. That's when the wolves came rushing in.

Both of them were shirtless, trying to attract me with their large muscles. Jason's were larger. Both of them had on cargo shorts, both dark colors that contrasted with their light skin.

"What'cha watching Mate?" Vincent asked me, emphasizing the word "mate" while smirking at Jason, who responded with a growl.

"TV," I grumbled, turning up the volume.

Vincent walked around the sofa and lifted me up so that he sat under my head. He then set me down, making my head rest on his lap. Jason walked around and did the same thing, only to my feet. This was weird.

"How about a foot massage Nora?" Jason asked. It was kind of nice that he called me Nora and not Mate. That way, I didn't feel like a werewolf's plaything.

"No," I said flatly, once again turning up the TV volume so much that my ear began to ache a little bit.

Vincent laughed quietly, but I could feel his body shake with each chuckle. He rested his hands on my back, and then began to slowly rub it.

Jason snorted and began to massage my feet in retaliation.

"She said she didn't want that!" Vincent snarled.

They have control?

Vincent yanked me towards him once more, actually winning. I stumbled into him, almost falling to the ground, but he soon wrapped me up in his arms.

"I'll take her tomorrow since I already claimed and scented her, so my inner wolf's pull will be a lot stronger. You can spend the day with her the next day. That's my final offer."

Jason's breathing sped up and his chest puffed with anger. "Fine," he growled. "But there's one condition."

"What?" Vincent asked, his grip on my tightening.

Jason smirked and stood up tall, making himself look bigger. "You're demoted to omega."

Oh shit, that's bad.

Vincent flinched. At first he looked like he was pained, but then his hold on me increased...somehow, and he straightened his posture as well. "As long as I have my mate by my side," he said, "I don't care what happens to me."

That ended that ordeal. Of course now, Vincent won't have the respect from the pack that he used to have. Omega is the lowest rank in the werewolf community. Soon he'll have to give up his house and go to the omega community on the poor side of town and live in one of those crappy houses. He'll have to get a different job because omegas aren't seen to be smart enough to teach. In short, Jason just ruined his life, with one little phrase. All because of me.
