By noon, Eli’s hospital room, which had felt quiet since morning, suddenly became much livelier.

Josh arrived with Grace and Chase.

As soon as the door opened, Chase immediately ran toward Eli’s bed, although Grace quickly called out to him not to be too noisy in the hospital. Still, their presence made the room, which had previously been silent, feel much more lively.

“You really made everyone worried,” Josh said as he stood beside the bed.

Grace sat in the chair beside the bed, while Chase began excitedly telling Eli all sorts of things. He had even brought several small things from home that he thought would keep Eli from getting bored during her stay.

Eli laughed softly at Chase’s behavior.

For a while, she almost forgot about the pain in her body. The hospital room, which had previously been filled with worry, became warm and cheerful. Josh teased Eli several times, Grace joined in, while Chase kept talking without stopping as if Eli were not in the hospital at all.

“Where are Naomi and Lydia?” Eli asked once things had quieted down a little.

Grace immediately answered, “They actually wanted to come. But they suddenly felt weak this morning.”

“So Riana wouldn’t let them leave the house,” Josh added. “She said they needed to rest.”

Eli nodded. “I hope they get better soon.”

“If your condition is better tomorrow, the doctor also said you can go home around noon,” Althea said.

Hearing that, Eli’s face immediately brightened a little.

“I’m already bored here.”

Josh laughed. “It’s only been a day.”

“One day in the hospital feels like a long time.”

“Then don’t make everyone worry again.”
