Chapter 602

Cale stepped up behind her and wrapped his arms around her without resistance. He rested his chin lightly on her shoulder. The soft scent of Lydia’s perfume drifted toward him, and Cale closed his eyes

for a moment.

“Because we’re always busy.”

“Especially you,” Lydia muttered.

“I know.”

Lydia turned her head slightly. Cale was standing very close now.

“So,” Lydia said quietly, “you’re really serious about that one month?”

Cale looked at her. “Yes.”

“We’ll be busy once you tell your family about this plan.”

Cale brushed a brief kiss against Lydia’s lips. “I just don’t like delaying things that are already certain. And you don’t need to worry about all that.”

Lydia laughed softly. “You really are an infuriating man.”

“But you like this infuriating man, don’t you?”

Lydia hadn’t had time to answer when Cale lifted his hand, gently turning her body toward him. His fingers came up to touch her face with surprising tenderness.

A touch that contrasted sharply with his cold reputation.

Lydia studied him for a few seconds before murmuring, “You never change.”

Cale didn’t argue. Instead, he leaned a little closer.

He didn’t wait long before kissing her again-softly this time. The kiss began slowly, almost hesitant, but deepened within seconds when Lydia reached up, gripping the collar of Cale’s shirt and pulling him slightly closer,

Cale brushed Lydia’s cheek with his thumb before kissing her again, unhurried.

For a moment, time seemed to slow,

When they finally pulled apart, they were still standing very close to each other.

“You’re really insufferable,” Lydia whispered,

Cale gave a faint smile. “But you didn’t refuse me.”

Lydia let out a quiet breath before finally saying, “Continue before I change my mind.”

Cale didn’t say anything. He let Lydia begin to step away-but before she could take more than a step, Cale pulled her gently back toward him.

The movement was quick, yet careful.

“Cale-”

Lydia’s words cut off when he lifted her effortlessly. In one smooth motion she was already in his arms, her legs instinctively wrapping around his waist. Her hands automatically caught his shoulders to steady herself.

“Are you serious?” Lydia whispered, her breath catching slightly.

Cale only looked at her for a moment. “Don’t talk so much.”

Lydia let out a soft huff. “You really have no idea how to behave like a normal person.”

“It’s a little late to realize that, isn’t it?”

He stepped out of the private dining room with Lydia still in his arms. The room he had booked wasn’t far

just a few quiet steps down the corridor.

From her position, Lydia could see his face up close.

“I can walk on my own.”

“I know.”

“Then why-”

Her words were cut short when Cale kissed her again.

The kiss wasn’t rushed. Warm and slow, like someone savoring the moment he had been given. Lydia let out a small breath before eventually returning the kiss just as gently.

Her hands slid from his shoulders to the back of his neck, pulling him slightly closer.

Cale’s steps remained steady even with Lydia still in his arms. They stopped in front of the door.

Cale pushed it open with one hand. Once the door swung inward, he stepped inside without breaking the kiss for long. The room felt quieter than the dining area earlier. Heavy curtains softened the afternoon light, giving the space a warm, private atmosphere.

Cale finally lowered Lydia gently onto the edge of the bed. But Lydia didn’t immediately let go. Her hands were still clutching the collar of Cale’s shirt.

“You didn’t give me time to think,” Lydia murmured.

Cale looked at her, his gaze softer than usual. “What exactly were you thinking about?”

Lydia raised his eyebrow slightly. “At least let me prepare.”

“No need.”

A faint smile curved on Lydia’s lips before she pulled him closer again.
