"Nothing." I said as I ruffled his hair, thankfully not the greasy one, "Continue."

"I wanted to give you this." He said, which prompted Alex to place something on the table and slide it across to me. My hands ran over it, trying to figure out what it was. I smiled when I figured it out, setting it beside me like how I did with the other one.

"It's Wanda the walking stick!" Dylan exclaimed in an animated voice after stealing the note from his brother, making all four of us laugh.

I smiled at Alex in gratitude. This was the first time that somebody at school had ever done anything this nice for me, and I was so grateful for it. Now, not only could I get around places easier like I used to, but my mom wouldn't have to spend the money for a replacement. Tears almost started welling up in my eyes, but I blinked them back. If only he knew how much this meant to me...

"Thank you so much."

After a moment's pause, his voice filled the air, "You're welcome," he said softly. I beamed at him, happy that he chose to speak again.

Alex took the paper back and started writing again, passing the paper back to Dylan when he was finished. The twin took a deep breath and began, "As for convincing you to stay, Mae has been texting me all weekend, telling me to get my sorry excuse as a guy out of bed to come visit you. She said that she was so glad she met you Friday and wants to spend as much time with you as possible so that she can know you better."

As Dylan was reading, Alex was writing something at the other end of the paper. Dylan flipped it, and continued, "Also, I don't think you know, but I live a couple houses down from you. My family moved a year ago, but I'm kind of shy so I didn't introduce myself when my parents did. Sorry about that."

My mouth completely opened. For a year this guy has been practically my next-door neighbor and I never knew? Why did I never know he existed? He has been literally right next to me every step of the way, and I never even knew he was there. What other secrets has the world been hiding from me?

"The others also think that you seem really nice and they want to get to know you better to. As for me, well you intrigue me."

I intrigue him? Didn't I just think the same thing about him when I was talking to the twins?

The paper was now in Oliver's hands as he started reading the rest of what Alex wrote, "We all want you to continue going to school. Forget about those other girls. They don't know you personally so you can't take offense to whatever they say. And if they bother you again, then we'll deal with them."

I didn't know what to say. I just met these people two days ago, and here they were asking me to come back to school? I had not made one friend in the entirety of high school, and suddenly on one day, I had made five. It was one thing for them to just be nice and be there for me on my last day, but no, one of them actually went to my house to try and convince me to show up at school on Monday.
