I watched through the window as my dad laughed with the same blonde haired lady from last time. He wiped some frosting off the corner of her lip making me scowl.
Who the hell eats cookies at nine in the evening?
You dumb ass.
I looked down to notice I was indeed eating a cookie.
Oh.
But that's beside the point. If this doesn't scream cheating then I don't know what does.
"Is this a daily thing for you?" Caiden asked me and I nodded. After realizing how creepy that seemed I shook my head.
"Why are you talking to me?" I asked him honestly confused.
"Don't you hate me?"
"Yes."
Well then I see someone likes to be rather blunt.
"Cool." Smooth, Claire. Real smooth.
"We need to talk," he told me and I turned my head to look at him to see him with a blank look on his face.
"Do you ever smile?" I asked bluntly.
Ha, I can be blunt too.
"No," he responded with a scowl. Hearing a giggle I turned my head back to look in the window. The blonde lady was giggling while putting frosting on my dad's nose.
What the hell? Are they eight?
"Do you know them?" Caiden asked me. My eyes widen and my whole body froze.
Quick think of an excuse.
"It's my uncle. My aunt thinks he's cheating on her," I lied.
"Doesn't he wonder why you're in the school he works at?" Caiden questioned. I could tell he honestly didn't care what I was saying but I answered the question any way.
"He doesn't know we're related. He's new to the family." He rolled his eyes obviously seeing through my lie.
"I don't have time to wait all day so hurry the fuck up," he snarled. I was starting to get used to his mood swings so I only rolled my eyes. Looking in the window again I watched as she giggle not bothering to be quiet. I scoffed out loud at her annoying laugh.
"Is that your girlfriend or something?" he asked me with a raised eyebrow.
"No! I told you that's my uncle and I don't know who the hell that chick is!" I said, sending him a quick glare.
"I do." My eyes widened in surprise and I quickly turned to look at him. Standing up I walked over to him and narrowed my eyes. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's talk," he scoffed.
"I do what I want," he said still leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He took out a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and took one out lighting it up.
"What are you doing?" I demanded, watching as smoke came out of his light pink lips.
"Smoking? I didn't know you were this stupid. Are you sure you're not a blonde?" I glared fiercely at him now very offended.
If I didn't hate him before then I sure do now.
"I'm a brunette thank you very much and not all blondes are stupid! And you're blonde!" I said pointing to his blonde hair.
"Yeah, but I'm fucking hot," he said not bothering to hide his arrogance.
"Yeah, and I'm the president of the United States," I said sarcastically.
"Besides only girls with blonde hair are stupid," he said, starting to walk toward the door.
"You know I feel like my roommate is eight," I said after a moment of catching up to him.
"Just tell me who she is?"
"This chick may change Nick."
"So? It would be for the better. He wouldn't be using girls every other day like you." His piercing hazel eyes snapped to my blue ones glaring at me intently.
"Every day," he corrected me a small smirk appeared on his face but it disappear as fast as it came. "And he wouldn't even go to a club to pick up girls with me because of that bitch," I simply shrugged.
"That means he is loyal to Claire," I said and he narrowed his eyes irritation quickly showing through his cold exterior.
"Are you going to break them up or not?" he asked me, kicking a stone.
"I'm not," I said and he nodded.
"Be prepared for hell," Caiden hissed. He stormed off to the building with our dorm and I slowly walked toward it, taking my time. Checking my phone I seen it read 9:57 and sighed knowing my dad was probably on his way home now. Realizing I forgot my key and the doors would lock at ten I quickly rushed in the building and pressed the elevator button a thousand times before it finally opened. After a moment or two I was finally standing outside my door and the time read, 10:02. Since I left all of my keys inside it had no other option but to knock. I put my fist up to the door and knocked a few times. Caiden opened the door and saw it was me and then slammed the door in my face. My jaw drop at his rudeness and I quickly knocked again.
"Caiden, I forgot my key! Just let me in you asshole!" I yelled, it took an hour of constant yelling and knocking before I finally gave up. I knocked on Nathan's door and after a few minutes of knocking Ashton opened the door.
"Ashton?" I said, confused. My guy voice almost faltered but I quickly fixed it with a cough.
"Hey Jace! I'm guessing you're here for Nathan," he said after doing the whole man hug thing guys do. Trust me, that's the most cringe worthy thing of my life, especially when you're trying to avoid your own chest from touching his.
"Yeah, what are you doing here?" I asked, confused.
"Nathan's my roommate." Memories of when I first found out about Nathan being across the hallway flashed through my mind, making me realize that Ashton was one of the guys walking with him.
"Oh I didn't even realize," I said and he let out a chuckle and opened the door wider.
"Would you mind if I stayed here for the night?" I asked Ashton when I noticed Nate was asleep.
"No, go right ahead," he said and I quickly thanked him. "Not trying to be rude or anything, but what's wrong with your room?"
"I forgot my key in the room and so he decided to be a jerk and not let me in, keeping me locked out," I say tiredly. Lying next to Nathan's sleeping figure in his bed.
"Just another reason to hate that guy," Ashton said shaking his head with his fists clenching. "He's always an ass."
"Tell me something I don't know," I said, my eyes slowly drifting close. Ashton started to say something else, but I couldn't hear him due to the fact that I was already slipping into the state of dreamland.
