"Can I kiss you now?" he asked me and before I could respond he had his lips on mine. I responded for only about thirty seconds before I pulled away.
"No kissing in public while I'm dressed like this." We took the quick ride on the elevator and exited.
"Hey, there's your dad." Nick pointed to the parking lot where my dad was walking with the blonde woman again. He kept moving his hands making me roll my eyes. My dad was always one of those people that used hand gestures whenever he is talking.
"We're using your car," I told him. He took out his keys, wiggling them in his face. We ended up following my dad all the way to Mr. Hero.
"Mr. Hero? Really?"
"Hey they have good food," I defended.
"I think I'd rather eat a rat's ass," he said and I shook my head.
"You're lucky I like you," I said shaking my head as we walked in together. My dad was already sitting at a table talking with the blonde woman. I narrowed my eyes but looked away from the two when the guy to the counter cleared his throat.
"Sorry, can I have a seven inch Philly cheese steak sandwich with cheese fries? Oh and a fountain drink," I asked them, my eyes glancing back over to the table before returning to the guy. Actually looking him over, my eyes widened.
"West?" He looked at me confused.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" he questioned and Nick elbowed me and I quickly shook my head.
"No, I just read your name tag," I said awkwardly ignoring Nick's intense stare at the side of my face. Guessing Nick already ordered he told us the price and Nick ended up paying for the whole thing. I thanked West grabbing the cups from his hand and handing one to Nick. We walked over to the drinks and Nick looked at me with a frown after filling up his cup with sprite. He frowned as we took a seat.
"Who was he?" he asked me.
"He's just a guy that stole my yogurt," I said simply and Nick chuckled.
"Only you, Claire," he said and my eyes widen looking over at my dad's table. He didn't seem to hear anything making me sigh in relief.
"I'm Jason remember," I hissed, my eyes narrowing and he quickly apologized.
"She looks like she's taking notes." He pointed out changing the subject.
"I wonder what she's writing down," I thought out loud.
"I'll go find out," Nick said and I raised an eyebrow.
"How exactly are you going to do that?" I asked him curiously.
"I'll help Jace! Don't worry blondie. I shall fix thou papers for you. Want to know why? Well I'll tell you why! I am batman," he put one fisted hand in the air and started running toward the men's bathroom like he was trying to impersonate batman. Once the door was closed I started to laugh so hard holding my stomach with my free hand.
"Nick, first of all, batman doesn't fly and second, this isn't the comics or shows or movies. Batman isn't superman," I said slowly and he gave me a sheepish smile. I hear the sound of a guy using the bathroom and turned my head to see someone watching us while using the bathroom.
"Get out of here!" Nick said his face turning hard. He got a look like Caiden but of course it wasn't as menacing. The guy quickly left in a rush while zipping up his pants. I rolled my eyes but walked over to the dryer and pressed the button making warm air blow out. I put the papers under it and held them tight so they wouldn't blow away. Remembering the door I quickly told Nick to lock it, which he did.
"So can you read anything on the paper while it's wet?" he asked rocking on the heels of his feet.
"I probably could make out most of the words but I don't want to," I said biting my lip.
"Why not?" he asked, coming closer to me.
"Because I'm afraid of what I'll see," I said honestly.
"Don't be," he said grabbing my free hand and holding it in his.
"I'll be here for you no matter what," he squeezed my hand and I nodded deciding to still wait until they're completely dry so I don't smear the words or rip the paper.
