We went over to a corner and talked quietly after I introduced Katie and Savannah, unnecessarily apparently. They'd met a few days ago. How? It was beyond me. I shot Katie a death glare. "So are you ever going to tell me who the mystery guy is?"

Katie looked at Savannah and they burst out in a fit of giggles. I just glared and crossed my arms. "What's so funny?"

"You just met him," Savannah said. "Shane is Katie's mate."

My mouth hung open. "But that's impossible! Kate, you're not a wolf," I whisper yelled.

She shook her head. "No, but Dani... I'm a witch."

We sat there in silence as I took it in. "So, that's how you knew Jace was coming before you could.... Why didn't you tell me before?"

"I only just found out when I met Shane. Don't be mad."

"Why would I be mad? This is amazing," I said and hugged her.

The three of us talked for a while after that. Well, mostly, we just made fun of our mates. They were just watching at us and glaring. Occasionally, we would wink or wave. Savannah took it to the next level and blew Henry a kiss. If Jace hadn't held him, back.... certain, inappropriate things would've went down.

"I think we've tortured them enough," Katie said giggling.

"I think you're right," I said.

"I think that maybe we should pay our boys a visit," Savannah said.

Then, we all got up and went over to they guys. I put my arms around Jace's waist and he growled at me softly. "You are such a tease," he said.

Deviously, I looked up at him with flirty eyes. "Oh, and you aren't?" I looked over to see Katie with Shane. They were smiling and talking softly. Henry and Savannah no doubt had gone off somewhere to be alone. Jace growled again. Aw, he was feeling neglected. "You want me to pay more attention to you?" I asked.

"I want you to only pay attention to me," he whispered seductively in my ear. I shivered. He kissed my neck and I pulled away. "Jace not here," I said in a threatening tone. "Come on. I've got to introduce you to my grandparents anyway."

He smiled and took my hand as I pulled him to where my family was. When me reached them, Jace pulled up next to me.

"Nana, Grandpa this is my... boyfriend, Jace," I said. I knew boyfriend was a little subtle, but I didn't want to say soul mate right in front of them. That would just be completely awkward. Boyfriend was definitely an understatement. Jace was my whole life now.

Nana smiled and embraced him in a hug. Grandpa shook his hand. We talked for a bit and Ryan came over. "Hey man," he said to Jace. "Thanks for coming."

"No problem," Jace said. "I wouldn't miss it. I wish I could've met them."

I swallowed hard. I regretted all of the mistakes I made, but what Jace said, broke me. I pushed past them. "I'm sorry," I mumbled as I made my way out the door before the tears could fall. I knew he would come, but I just didn't want him right now. Once I was outside, I ran to the forest. .

"Dani!" Jace called after me. "Dani, wait!"

But I wouldn't. I just kept running and discarding my clothes as I went. Soon, I was running as a wolf. I had to escape this. These feelings. I had to get away, somehow. It was my fault. Everything was my fault.

Dani's P.O.V.

I was running just to clear my head. My senses dulled and I tried to forget. I tried to forget everything that was going on. To do that, a sang in my head. One song came to mind. It was from a Disney movie or something.

Quest for Camelot. That was the movie. The main character's love interest sang it. The song was called I Stand Alone. I used to love it as a kid and still do now.

I know the sound of each rock and stone

And I embrace what others fear

You are not to roam in this forgotten place

Just the likes of me are welcome here

Everything breathes

And I know each breath

For me it means life

For others, it's death

And heard all the lies

But in my world there's no

Compromise

Like every tree

Stands on it's own

Reaching for the sky

I stand alone

I share my world

With no one else

All by myself

I stand alone

All by myself

I stand alone

All by myself

I stand alone

That was as far as I'd gotten when a dark red wolf jumped out in front of me. I froze. Shit! I wasn't listening to the things around me. Stupid dumb ass! My instincts took over and I tensed.
