With that curse, Lisa woke up. She was dazed, lost in thought, trying to process the ridiculous dream she'd just had.

She had delivered countless babies, but this was the first time she had ever dreamed about giving birth herself. And to make matters worse, she dreamed about having Logan's child. It was absurd.

What a bizarre dream to have, especially during Christmas.

Lisa rubbed her face and quickly got up. She poured herself a glass of water to calm down, then left the resting room and headed to my ward.

Brandon was feeding me. I could have eaten by myself, but he insisted on feeding me. According to him, this was the special treatment I deserved during this time. He said I should learn to be pampered like a queen.

I decided to humor him, letting him pamper me as a way to make up for the pain I'd endured during childbirth.

The silky-smooth oatmeal, paired with the gnocchi we had made together earlier, was an unusual combination. Still, it had a uniquely delicious taste.

Brandon had mentioned that the nutritional meal plan would start in the morning. For now, this was just a midnight snack.

"Eating already?" Lisa walked in wearing her white coat, hands in her pockets. She radiated the full authority of a department director.

"Want to join? I can't finish all this," I offered.

"No, thanks. I don't have anyone to feed me, so I'll pass," Lisa teased us.

"Why don't you call Logan, then?" I retorted. Though I had just given birth, I wasn't in pain anymore and had regained enough energy to banter.

Lisa glared at me. "Food can't even shut you up!"

I was almost done eating anyway, so I shook my head at Brandon. He didn't force me to eat more, put down the spoon, and handed me some warm water to rinse my mouth.

Lisa was already cooing over my little princess. "I've delivered so many babies, but our baby girl here is the most adorable one."
