Lisa was surprised to see him arrive so early, especially on the day when everyone was celebrating and spending time with their loved ones. Yet, he had chosen to spend it with her. She wasn't made of stone, and his gesture touched her.

"Uncle Logan, why are you here so early?" She walked toward him with her hands in her pockets.

"I was worried you might be hungry." He held up the food he had brought for her. He glanced at her resting room and said, "Open the door."

Lisa opened the door, and they walked in, one after the other. Her resting room was small, with just a desk, a chair, a bed, and a tiny closet.

"Uncle Logan, have a seat." She sat on the bed and gestured for him to take the chair.

He put down the food and asked, "You haven't slept?"

"I did," Lisa replied, and then she remembered the dream and cleared her throat.

He looked at her. "If you're staying up late, you need to drink more water."

Her cup was on the table—pink, with a cute cartoon design—but it was empty. He picked it up, filled it with water, and handed it to her.

When Lisa took the cup, her fingers brushed against his. At that moment of contact, her heart felt like it had been struck by electricity.

Such casual contact between them was nothing unusual, but lately, she couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest every time it happened.

She looked down, afraid to meet his eyes, fearing he might see right through her. "Uncle Logan, you're getting better at taking care of people."

"Huh?" He looked at her, then seemed to understand what she meant. "Yeah."

She was speechless.

In the quiet space, neither spoke. Only the steam from the cup wafted up between them.
