"Lisa looked sweet, but she had a rebellious side too." Joelle sighed.

Logan didn't respond. Instead, he turned and watched as Lisa walked out the door and got into her car. His gaze followed her until she drove away.

"Logan?" Joelle called out to him.

He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Joelle. For some reason, that glance sent an inexplicable chill down her spine.

"Are we still hanging these?" Joelle asked, shaking the items in her hand.

"Do you have wet wipes?" Logan replied, not answering her question.

She quickly nodded and turned to grab her bag from the seat, retrieving some wet wipes.

Logan took it, pulled out a wipe, and cleaned the spot Joelle had just touched. How could he not see her subtle flirting—or Lisa's anger?

Joelle's expression stiffened at his reaction. He hadn't said a word about her affectionate touch earlier, which made her think her flirting had worked. She had assumed he might have felt something for her.

But now, his gesture had shattered that illusion, leaving her feeling utterly humiliated.

Logan never looked at her. After wiping, he walked to the side to toss the wipes away, then continued decorating the yard for Brandon.

Joelle, who had been happily decorating with him earlier, no longer had the heart for it.

"Logan, I'm not feeling well. Can you take me back?" she said.

He replied with a simple, "Sure."

After agreeing, he put down the balloons. He glanced toward the estate as if he knew perfectly well that someone inside could see him.

Logan left with Joelle, and neither spoke during the journey. Finally, she broke the silence. "Mr. Cohen, I can't keep pretending with you anymore."

He wasn't surprised at all. Though he hadn't looked at her reaction earlier, he knew she was a smart girl. She understood exactly what his actions had meant.

His gaze deepened as he looked at her. "I'd appreciate it."

Joelle followed Logan inside. He brewed her a cup of coffee, which she didn't refuse. While he fetched the so-called gift, her eyes drifted to the curtains.

Now it dawned on her—someone must have been behind those curtains the day she visited.

As for who it was, she had a pretty good idea.

She had never understood why someone like Logan, who could have any girlfriend he wanted, needed her to pretend. But now, she knew.

Everything he had done was to win over one person.

When Logan came back downstairs, Joelle was already gone. She knew the gift might have been real, but the main reason was to play her part in the final act of his performance.

Those ten minutes were more than enough for the show.
