In the bar, Lisa couldn't stop replaying the image of Joelle and Logan walking into his place together. He always kept his word, and true to his promise, he had moved Joelle in with him. So, it was official—they were together now.

That was a good thing!

This way, she wouldn't have to worry about Logan having any inappropriate feelings for her. It would spare her the awkwardness of facing him and prevent chaos in their family.

But then, why did her heart feel so unsettled?

It was as if someone had ripped it out or poured something heavy into it—a sensation she had never felt before. She hadn't even felt this way during her breakup with Keith.

She wasn't stupid—she knew what this meant. She had fallen for Logan too, after rejecting him and losing him. And now, he had already moved on with someone else. Love was such a cruel joke, playing tricks on her.

Maybe it was even a punishment for not facing her feelings when he had liked her. Now she regretted it, but it was too late.

"Lisa, Lisa," she muttered to herself. "Today, you can get drunk just this once for the love that died before it even began. After this, don't let yourself feel bad about it ever again."

After giving herself this stern warning, she started drinking. To avoid any trouble if she got too drunk, she sent me a message. "Come pick me up later."

When I received the message, Brandon was with me. He was keeping me company during my postpartum workout. Even though he was very against it, I insisted. He could stay nearby and watch—just in case anything went wrong.

A woman's desire to look beautiful always came first. I was determined to get back in shape as soon as possible. I wouldn't wait until after the postpartum recovery period to exercise, as Brandon had requested.

Looking at the location Lisa sent, I understood everything.

Brandon said directly, "She has taken the bait. Let Logan handle it."

But he was also becoming more grounded, no longer the rough, cold man he seemed to be when I first met him.

Logan wasn't surprised when he received the message. He drove to the bar where Lisa was. He saw her but didn't approach her. Instead, he found a spot where he could keep an eye on her and sat down.

She sat there, drinking. She seemed different from how she was at work.

At work, she was the picture of professionalism, an untouchable queen. But after a few drinks, a sultry air took over, especially when her long, wavy hair came undone. In that atmosphere, she was utterly captivating.

Men would occasionally try to chat with her, but she coldly ignored them, and they would take the hint and leave.
