Logan quickly gathered up the clothes she had worn during their "battle" last night, tossed them into the washing machine, and made sure nothing was out of place before opening the door.

Martha shot him a glare. "Logan, what exactly are you hiding in your room? Why are you being so sneaky? Don't tell me there's another woman besides Joelle.

"I'm warning you, every member of the Cohen family must have proper morals—especially when it comes to relationships. No cheating!"

She stepped inside while speaking, barely glancing at the shattered porcelain on the floor before scanning the bedroom.

Her eyes locked onto the bed, scrutinizing it intensely—just short of lifting the covers to inspect underneath.

She wasn't here to check on him. This was basically a police raid.

"Martha, I didn't place that vase properly, and it broke. I'm just cleaning it up. You should go back downstairs," Logan urged.

He didn't want Lisa to be stuck inside the cabinet for too long.

But Martha was sharp—she sensed something was off and wasn't about to leave so easily.

She walked straight to the window, pressed the switch, and drew open the curtains.

Bright daylight flooded the room. Then, she resumed her search.

When she saw the bathroom door closed, she headed toward it.

"Martha, that's my private space," Logan warned, already seeing where this was going.

"Private, my ass. I practically raised you," Martha said, pushing the door open.

The bathroom was empty. She closed the door and continued her inspection. Now, the only place left was the walk-in closet.

"Martha, I really need to clean up these fragments and find someone to restore the vase. You know how much I spent on this. If it can't be fixed, I'll be at a huge loss," Logan said, hoping to divert her attention.

"No."

Martha's face darkened. "Logan, you've got some nerve, huh? Dating Joelle while keeping another woman in your room? No wonder you keep stalling on the engagement. So this is the reason."

"Martha, it's not what you think—"

"Not what I think? If there's really nothing, then open that door and let me take a look," Martha said, pointing at the closet.

Logan really didn't dare. If it were just her, he would have been able to bluff his way out. She'd probably just take a quick peek and let it go.

But with that little detective in her arms? If Rowdy barked at the cabinet, Martha would open it right away, and then everything would be exposed.

His hesitation was an answer in itself.

Martha rolled her eyes and kicked him. "I'm warning you—get that person out of there immediately, or I won't go easy on you!"
