Lisa touched the tip of her nose and said, "I don't know."

She had already expected her mother to ask about this on her way here, and those three words were the best way to shut down the conversation.

"You don't know?" Martha didn't believe her. "You go to his place all the time, your shoes are still in his cabinet, and you're telling me you don't know?"

Damn it, she missed that detail!

Lisa had no choice but to keep spinning her story. "My shoes have been there forever. I left them back when you asked him to keep an eye on me. I haven't been there in ages."

"Really?" Martha's sharp eyes scanned her suspiciously.

"Even if I did go, it doesn't mean I'd just happen to run into her." Lisa tried to joke her way out.

Seeing that she wasn't getting anything out of Lisa, Martha sighed in frustration. "None of you are ever easy.

"Fine, I'm giving you a task—find out everything about this woman your uncle is dating. Get me pictures, her job, whatever you can dig up."

"Mom, do you think I'm a detective?" Lisa was exasperated.

"Your uncle's situation is serious. If he gets led astray by a bad woman, it'll be a huge problem," Martha said.

Lisa almost wanted to cry. Was she the bad woman?

"Ms. Cohen, you know better than anyone that Logan isn't someone who can be led astray. Stop overthinking. Seriously, I'm speechless." Lisa shook her head as she spoke.

Martha was about to say something else when Lisa suddenly widened her eyes. "Mom, why do you have so many gray hairs? And those wrinkles at the corners of your eyes…

"You should really get your hair done and take care of your skin."

Martha might be pushing 60, but she had a youthful heart. Hearing that, she instinctively touched her hair and grumbled, "It's because of you stressing me out."

"Then why don't you just stop worrying about us? Then you won't be so stressed anymore," Lisa teased.

Martha shot her a glare before walking off.

Lisa let out a long sigh, then turned toward the elevator. As she passed by a thick pillar, she suddenly noticed someone standing there.

She tried to push him away, but he didn't let go. Instead, he lowered his head and kissed her.

Lisa's eyes widened in shock. This was a hospital!

Even though this corner was somewhat hidden, people could walk by at any moment.

He was way too bold.

She lightly pushed against him, but Logan didn't let go until he was satisfied with the kiss. Afterward, he gently smoothed her hair and brushed the corner of her lips. "Go to work."

Work? What work? Her whole morning was already ruined!

But she still ran off, and as he watched her retreating figure, he smiled slightly.

Just as he was about to leave, his phone rang from inside his pocket.

Looking at the caller ID, Logan's relaxed expression tensed slightly.
