Chapter 726
He assumed she was seething with rage at Johnny’s blatant distortion of every single truth, and his heart ached even more fiercely for her.
At the same time, he couldn’t help but notice Franklin had not said a single word to stand up for Julia through all of this, simply standing aside and letting Johnny keep attacking her relentlessly without lifting a finger to intervene.
Anger burned hotter and hotter inside Yale’s chest, until a sharp, bitter laugh burst out of him.
He threw his head back and let out a loud, mocking roar of laughter, never breaking eye contact with Johnny as he spoke with unbridled scorn.
“Johnny, the lengths you’ll go to shield this woman never cease to shock and astound me, time and time again!”
After firing off that sharp remark, Yale locked eyes firmly with Johnny, a loaded, knowing smirk stretching across his face that carried layers of unspoken mockery and pity.
“It’s plain to see how deeply you care for her, how far you’re willing to bend over backward to shield her from every ounce of criticism thrown her way.
“But I hate to break it to you-all that blind devotion and relentless protection you pour out for this woman is only going to leave you looking utterly ridiculous in front of every single person gathered here tonight.”
Every guest seated throughout the venue froze up the second those words sank in, including Julia, Janice, and Daphne, each one wearing a blank, confused expression as they struggled to parse exactly what Yale was hinting at with his ominous tone and taunting grin.
Before anyone in the crowd could piece together the hidden meaning behind his threat, Yale suddenly lifted the smartphone clutched tight in his palm and tapped rapidly across its screen.
The massive digital projection screen hanging directly behind him flickered bright white for a split second, then multiple high-resolution photographs popped up across its entire surface for every attendee to view without obstruction.
A collective gasp rippled through the entire banquet hall the instant the images came into clear focus, erupting instantly into deafening chaos and hushed, frantic whispers bouncing off the high ceiling and polished marble walls.
Maggie and Franklin.
No one had ever imagined the pair shared such an intimate, secret connection-
Every frame captured Franklin and Maggie wrapped up in wildly affectionate, unmistakably romantic poses, their bodies pressed far too close to pass off as casual business associates or distant acquaintances.
Chapter 726
One prominent shot even showed Franklin driving Maggie back to his luxury estate well after midnight, walking side by side up his front steps with her, confirming she’d spent the night inside his private residence.
The whole crowd sat utterly dumbfounded, jaws hanging loose in stunned disbelief, completely unable to wrap their heads around the explosive scandal unfolding right before their eyes.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
