Chapter 727
When Johnny had mocked Julia’s academic record and repeated Nolan’s harsh judgment, labeling her work mediocre, Rex had burned with the same white–hot rage swirling inside Yale’s chest.
He’d been fully prepared to stride forward and defend Julia’s outstanding professional credentials to the entire room.
After all, if someone with Julia’s stacked, world–class resume could be dismissed as unremarkable and average, then
what did that make every other researcher working within their competitive AI industry?
It would imply the rest of them were barely competent enough to qualify as amateurs, if not outright idiots with no genuine research talent whatsoever.
Before Rex could seize the opening to speak up and defend Julia’s reputation, Yale pulled the trigger on his big reveal, blasting the compromising intimate photos of Maggie and Franklin onto the giant screen for the whole room to dissect.
Rex went rigid the moment the photos flashed into view, and his shock amplified tenfold when he spotted several
frames he personally remembered snapping himself scattered among the collection displayed front and center for
everyone to see.
That initial surge of shock faded fast, though, as the full picture clicked into place in his mind, and he instantly understood exactly why Yale had mustered up the courage to stand on stage and fight tooth and nail to win justice for Julia in such a high–stakes, crowded industry forum.
Jimmy and Glen were equally thunderstruck when their gazes landed on the damning photographic evidence, the revelation hitting them with the brutal force of a heavy wooden board slamming hard against their skulls without
warning.
Both men’s heads snapped simultaneously toward Maggie and Franklin standing near the edge of the stage, eyes wide with unfiltered shock.
But a split second after Jimmy fixed his stare on the two scandalous figures, a sudden, blinding flash of realization cut through the fog of confusion clouding his mind, and he stumbled backward one unsteady step on reflex.
Everything clicked into perfect, horrifying clarity all at once.
He stood rooted motionless on the spot, completely stunned and speechless.
Not once had he ever stopped to link Maggie and Franklin together romantically in his head, never suspecting the two shared any hidden personal bond beyond surface level corporate collaboration between Wilson Group and Cole Corporation.
It turned out Franklin was the mysterious husband Maggie had consistently refused to name, the man she’d never once openly acknowledged or discussed with any of their mutual friends within their social circle.
Chapter 727
Yves and Rex had already uncovered the truth about Maggie and Franklin’s secret romantic entanglement long before tonight’s confrontation, so they only experienced a fleeting jolt of surprise when the photos lit up the screen before settling back into composed, unreadable silence.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
