Emily said, "I'm just warning you. You still have a chance to turn back. Your daughter is young. Could you really bear to leave her without a father?"

Benjamin glared at her, then suddenly raised his leg and kicked her hard in the shoulder.

Emily's back slammed into a tree stump. A muffled groan escaped her lips as the pain drained the color from her face.

Andrew's deep voice boomed from the side, "Benjamin!"

Benjamin scoffed coldly. "Who the hell do you think you are to lecture me? Or are you just so stupid that you think I'd cater to your every whim like other men?"

"Aren't you being a bit delusional?"

Emily pressed her lips together, staying silent.

Benjamin pulled his foot back, retreating at a leisurely pace. He locked eyes with a furious Andrew. "Don't look at me like that. I promised I wouldn't hold the whole police thing against Emily. Anything else is none of your business."
