Reece and Maddie were perched on the couch as Michael lay with me in his bed. An hour after the injection and I am already feeling an improvement. My muscles no longer ached and the burning of the cuts scattered on my body was reduced heaps.
We were lying in a blissful silence playing with eachother a fingers for entertainment.
"Michael!" The silence was broken as I jumped, shocked from the sudden anger, pressing myself into Michael's body as his wrapped his arms around me. Michael looked over at the for expectancy, waiting for Reece to storm in and sure enough; a few seconds later a fuming Reece was shooting deadly daggers at him.
"A body was found on my territory near the cells." Reece spoke and Michael's arms tightened around me. Confusingly Maddie and I exchanged glances and I peered up at Mikey who was blankly glaring at Reece.
"Who?" Maddie gasped in shock.
With a hard look on his face laced with greif, he answere the question that made both Maddie and I gasp from shock.
"Jess."
"Care to share any details you have on this?" Reece snapped at Michael. "And while your at it, how do you escape from the cells anyways?" Reece's eyes were narrowed to a point I was suprised he could still see out of them as he took a slow, threatening step forwards.
Maddie reacted quickly, placing her small hand on her mates broad chest to get him to calm down.
"I got out because my little mate left my cell half unlocked. After throwing yourself against them for a while the lock just have way from not being locked fully" Michael stated and I instantly felt guilty, my cheeks flushing a slight red at my careless actions, even though it saved my life.
"After a while of trying to get through that stupid door that I was dead bolted into, a guard came down after a while to open it and make sure I wasn't harming anything. I knocked him out cold and got out, not that difficult since you only had one guard on my cell at six in the morning." Michael said, practically mocking Reece's poor security on the cells where many stray and rogue wolves were being kept.
"That doesn't explain the dead body Michael." Reece was getting impatient and his hands firmly gripped Maddie's as they pushed him back slightly on his chest, trying to control and calm his wolf.
"I was running to help my mate, who was being attacked by a hunter and rogue, who got only your territoy undetected may I add." He snapped.
"She came up to me and started appologising, not knowing I had a mate at the time even though I clearly remember telling her." Michael explained. I felt my heart pull slightly at remembering the fact he slept with another person after finding me. Shaking it off knowing nothing would change the past, I focused on Michael's deep voice telling what happened.
