Noelle looked at Cedric in surprise. "So soon? I thought that lawyer was tight-lipped?"

The Liddell family had tried every method to interrogate him but got nothing useful. That was why they handed him over to her.

Cedric continued, "It turns out Xenia's mother did want a divorce at the time. She consulted that lawyer about divorce and domestic abuse. But he never officially took the case.

"According to a former colleague, the lawyer had feelings for her. He never charged her a cent and even sent a legal letter warning Sean."

Noelle was shocked. "Didn't those two have at least a ten-year age gap? Was Xenia's mother that charming?"

"I was curious, too. So, I asked someone to track down a photo of her. The one on her ID looked like an average girl. But we found a photo from her marriage certificate." Cedric took out his phone, and Noelle looked at the photo.

Xenia's mother looked gentle and gave off an elegant air. Appearances could be deceiving. Who knew a kind-looking woman like her plotted to murder Noelle's parents and manipulated everything from behind the scenes?

Noelle frowned at the photo. "I thought she would look more like Xenia. But they hardly resemble each other. Only their eyes looked similar."
