Noelle let out a laugh the moment she heard Cedric's bold words. She looked at Laura with superiority, mocking, "Did you hear that?

"I used to keep a low profile because I didn't like being in the spotlight. But if someone insists on picking fights with me for no reason, then I won't be holding back either."

Laura's eyes turned bloodshot with anger. After all, she had never been humiliated like this in front of so many people.

Just then, Mike, the president of PZ Group, walked over and said, "Ms. Liddell, please let her go. Deliberately assaulting someone is against the law."

Noelle let go of Laura and spoke coldly. "Do you think I'm scared? Don't you know Laura's mother murdered my parents?

"And now you expect me to make peace with her? That's never going to happen—not in this lifetime!"

Mike frowned. "That was her mother's doing. It had nothing to do with her."

Noelle scoffed. "Do you even know how Laura went from being a top socialite to becoming the biggest scandal and laughingstock? She did a lot to cover up for her mother and trust me; I remember every single thing."

"But she was just trying to save her mom. That's human nature, isn't it?" Mike argued.

Noelle silently clicked her tongue. The way he said that reeked of moral manipulation.

She gave him a cold, sharp stare and questioned, "Is saving a murderer human nature? Then, I suppose your company has no issue condoning criminal behavior.

"Maybe I should start doubting whether your company bends the law and scams people in your projects, too?"

Her words clearly struck a nerve. Mike's face shifted, and his eyes turned wary.

"Ms. Liddell, you can't say things like that. I'm just trying to mediate and help you two make peace. We might be collaborating on overseas projects in the future, and it would be a shame to damage that relationship."

Noelle shot back, "Who said we'd be collaborating? Are you saying we can't run overseas projects ourselves?"
