Noelle looked at Cedric. Right now, their final target was PZ Group. In her last life, it had been the biggest con of them all.

Cedric nodded. "We found out that the guy, Mike Coal, isn't actually the boss. There's someone behind him pulling the strings."

"I figured as much. A scam on that scale? No way it's run by just one person—it has to be a whole team," Noelle replied.

She sat up in bed. "Let's go. We need to deal with this."

Cedric lowered his gaze to her. "Are you sure your body's up for it?"

Noelle flushed. "Why didn't you mention this earlier? This is important!"

He teased, "You were the one hugging me this morning and saying those things. How could I resist?"

He leaned down to kiss her, but Noelle turned away and ran. She paused halfway to the bathroom, winced, took a deep breath, and marched in with a red face.

Back in the room, Cedric called Alfred. "We'll be there a little later. You guys go ahead and start the discussion."

"Alright," Alfred replied without pressing further.

After ending the call, Cedric walked over to the window. The world outside was blanketed in snow, and for the first time in his life, he found a snowy morning beautiful.

Noelle and Cedric headed out together to the meeting spot. On the way, she glared at him. "They're totally going to guess what happened between us."

"Relax. They're not that socially oblivious," Cedric said calmly. He reached out to take her hand, but she dodged, still flustered.

Noelle grew more embarrassed by the second, her cheeks warm as she looked out at the snowy streets. Most of the cars were driving slowly, likely because the roads were icy.
