"Ms. Liddell, how could you say that? I'm thrilled," Ivy replied, putting on a pitiful expression.

Noelle stepped in front of Grace. "She's Mia's best friend. If anyone understands how Mia really feels about you, it's her. So yeah, her words carry weight."

"That's not true. Mia and I actually get along just fine," Ivy insisted.

Noelle let out a sharp laugh. "Sure. Keep telling yourself that. If Mia's father hadn't grown a conscience before he died, you would've walked away with quite a bit of the estate."

Ivy clenched her jaw. "Ms. Liddell, I'm not here to fight with you. I know I made mistakes back then. But I have no ill will toward Mia. I genuinely hope she recovers."

Noelle stared at her. "Well, she's awake now, and she's doing just fine."

She turned away, not sparing Ivy another glance. Naturally, she completely missed the look on Eason's face beside her.

She figured that if Ivy was that kind of person, then the son she raised probably wasn't much better either. Regardless, the existence of Ivy and Eason posed a huge threat to Mia.

Before long, Carl emerged with the doctors. Noelle immediately shot up. "How is she?"

Carl's tone was calm and composed. "She's out of the danger zone. From here on, it's just a matter of recovery. As for her leg, I've spoken to Dr. Bowell. A corrective surgery is possible."
