Cedric's expression immediately darkened at Carl's words. Sensing that the tension was escalating, Noelle quickly stepped in to break it up. "That's enough. Mrs. Greene's waiting."

Carl let out a cold snort and led his team into the ward. Then, Noelle turned to Cedric and took his hand. "You don't need the Liddell family's approval either."

It was only now that Cedric's expression eased a little while Magnus fumed. "He's too much! After the way the Liddells treated you, how does he have the nerve to call himself your family? Unbelievable!"

He'd nearly lost his temper after hearing what Cedric said earlier, but he forcibly held himself back for the sake of Emma's treatment.

Cedric shot Magnus a warning look and said, "You'd better keep your mouth shut."

Magnus bristled. "I just feel so frustrated."

"There are times when you have to swallow your pride," Cedric said. He'd been just as furious moments ago but kept quiet.

After all, Noelle had worked hard to get this treatment opportunity, and he didn't want to jeopardize her efforts.

Noelle turned to Magnus and chimed in, "I feel frustrated, too, but when you're the one asking for help, you have to act like it."

Magnus lowered his head and turned to walk off, likely needing a moment to cool down. Noelle held Cedric's hand and said, "So many things are different from what happened in the dream."

Carl had shown the biggest changes. Cedric looked down at her and said, "You won't have to deal with the Liddell family once the treatment is over."

"Are you suggesting that I should be ungrateful?"

"They can blame me for that. After all, I was the one who demanded you cut ties. I just don't want you returning to a place that only makes you miserable."

Noelle gave him a firm hug and reassuringly said, "I'm not that fragile."

As she gently touched the ring on her finger, Noelle realized she felt genuinely happy now.
