Laura was determined to make Cedric regret ever choosing Noelle as his partner.

Noelle waited until she and Cedric left the floor before speaking again. "Laura's here for you."

Cedric replied, "I don't want to get tangled up with someone like her. She'd be nothing more than a stain in my life."

"Ms. Merlock's the perfect socialite, no? She's rich, beautiful, and has a pair of long legs. Didn't you see how all of the men practically had their eyes glued on her when she showed up?"

He pinched her nose and replied, "You're all I need. Anyone who gets involved with a crazy woman like Laura is just asking for trouble, be it dating or just simply being friends."

Noelle replied, "It's all your fault for being so handsome and so rich. It's no wonder women can't let go of you."

Noelle actually could tell that Laura no longer had very deep feelings for Cedric at that point. Laura was a very selfish person at her core. What motivated her at that point was no longer attachment to Cedric but her desire to win against Noelle.

Cedric hugged Noelle and said, "Can we stop talking about other women now? Let's go get ourselves a massage."

Noelle smiled. She agreed that Laura was the kind of woman who was terrifying to be around, whether as a friend or otherwise. The two of them did not see Laura again after that.

When Noelle was scrolling Instagram, however, she came across Laura's photos taken in the hot spring that were particularly revealing. It was just how Laura took her photos now.

Noelle took a look at the comments and saw that they were mostly just men praising Laura for her body. There were a few negative comments from trolls, but they were mostly drowned out.

Noelle did not want to look at it anymore and turned off her phone. She reckoned that it was a path Laura had chosen for herself.

The number one socialite from long ago was already no more. Regardless, it was still a decision made by Laura herself.

Noelle enjoyed a wonderful vacation by the sea, and the New Year holiday was already over before she knew it.

Looking out at the ocean, she said, "I hope that once this is all over, we'll have a chance to come back here to the sea."

"You like the sea that much?" Cedric asked.
