Seeing how furious Cedric was, Noelle didn't feel all that angry herself. The fact that someone had gone as far as to hire a hitman showed how badly they wanted her gone.

Soon, she received a call from Mia. "I heard someone put a hit out on you through the dark web?"

"I know, but I don't think it was that old hag. It was most likely the person stomping around in rage last night."

"Are you talking about Laura? I don't think she has the resources to do that at the moment. Does she even have that kind of money?"

Noelle chuckled. "Don't forget Laura is currently operating under PZ Group. She's getting a cut from the investments.

"Just think how much money she's swindled out of people. She must be receiving good pay."

"Good point. She used to wear fake designer items, and now she's spending real money just to get rid of you. Must be love."

Noelle clicked her tongue. "She does love me till I die."

"Anyway, don't worry. Eugene said he's tracking whoever took the case, so you'll be fine."

"Got it. Thank him for me. Let's get together once all this is over." After hanging up, Noelle glanced at the calendar. Almost there… It was just a little longer until the end of the month.

When the call ended, Mia stood by the window and watched as Ivy got out of the car, looking visibly irritated as she spoke to someone beside her. She snapped at Owen, "Tell that idiot Laura not to create more trouble. We don't need her doing any more investments either."

"But Laura isn't exactly easy to control. Shall we get rid of her?"

Ivy thought about it before replying, "Warn her first. If she still refuses to behave, get rid of her. We've got half a month left, so we can't let anything derail the plan."

Just as she said that, Ivy's eyes flickered warily toward the second floor, and Mia quickly ducked behind the curtains. Withdrawing her gaze, Ivy frowned and asked, "Is Mia home?"

"Not sure," Owen replied.

She walked straight upstairs and knocked on the door. "Mia, are you back?"

Mia pretended to yawn as she opened the door. "Ivy, you're back."
