Xenia could not bring herself to trust Ivy wholeheartedly. She was afraid that she would be lied to again.

Ivy patiently replied, "Mia now knows about our relationship as aunt and niece, so how could I just leave you behind? Besides, can you really just go and tell others about what our real relationship is?"

Xenia looked at Ivy and replied, "Alright, I'll trust you for now."

"Just remember to keep it a secret until the end of the month, and don't say anything to Mia. If our real relationship is exposed to Noelle, you won't be getting to live the good life you wanted."

"Why?"

"What do you mean, why? Did you tell anyone at the Liddells anything?"

Xenia shook her head. "No, I didn't."

Ivy asked, "Then how did you find this place?"

"I ran away on my own. The Liddells weren't treating me well. They were even hitting me! I couldn't take it anymore, so I came looking for you."

Ivy still found it a little strange. "How did you know that I live here? I don't think I've ever told you about this."

"I've seen you before, of course. It was back when you came to the campus looking for Mia. I wasn't getting along with both Mia and Noelle at the time."

Ivy held onto her forehead and said, "Right, I almost forgot about that. Alright then, we'd best be careful for the sake of both our futures."

Xenia nodded. "So I can stay here now?"

"You can. Here's your bank card. Just use it to buy anything you want or when you want to go out and have some fun."

Xenia immediately lit up with joy. "Thanks, Mom! I mean, thanks, Ivy! I promise I won't say anything."

Ivy could not help but feel contempt toward Xenia upon seeing Xenia's reaction. But she figured that if money could keep Xenia quiet, then so be it.

Ivy asked, "Do you know what to say when you see Mia again?"

"I know."
