When Noelle heard Laura's shameless words, she could barely stop herself from dragging the latter out. Clenching her teeth, she hissed, "What a bitch."

Laura casually flipped her hair and replied, "You've probably been calling me that in your heart for some time, haven't you? After all, I'm better than you now."

While Noelle said nothing, Mia scoffed and chimed in, "Better at what? Better at becoming the accomplice of a con artist?"

Laura's expression fell immediately. "I was tricked."

"If you hadn't been tricked, do you think any legitimate company would have hired someone like you with such a scandalous reputation?"

Mia's words hit Laura like a knife. The latter gritted her teeth and snapped back, "It was all because of the Cantrell family's scandal, a mistress embezzling company funds, that nearly ruined us all!"

"Wrong. Ivy is not a mistress; she's the CEO of PZ Group." Mia refuted.

Laura immediately denied it. "No way! This is impossible! Ivy is a good-for-nothing, so how could she possibly be the CEO of PZ Group?"

Salena chimed in, "I thought it was strange, too."

Noelle pointed out, saying, "What if she's been a professional con artist all along and deceived Mia's dad from the very beginning?"

Realization hit Salena as she said, "So that's how it is. I knew it. Ivy has always been a liar who's after your dad's money."

However, Laura looked unconvinced. "Even if it's true, so what? How could she have silently climbed her way up to become the CEO of a major company just like that?"

"PZ Group isn't even an actual company. It's a front carefully dressed up to look like a successful enterprise just to target investors in Montrevia. Their plan was to finish this job and disappear so you could never track them down," Noelle explained.

Then, she turned to Salena and added, "You've seen how badly Ivy wants to bring down rich people like you. She conned the Cantrells out of so much money just for revenge."

Salena's jaw dropped in realization. "That explains her rage earlier while she was trying so hard to deny being a mistress."
