Noelle realized that she had said something bad and quickly changed the subject. "It's getting late. I'm hanging up now, alright?"

She hastily ended the call. As she recalled what she had just said, she could not help but cover her face with her hand in embarrassment. She wondered if she was out of her mind for answering like that.

Noelle rolled around on the bed. Her phone chimed once with a notification, but she just buried her face into her pillow and ignored it. Her phone then chimed once more, notifying her of a message.

She waited for a while before finally picking up her phone to check on it. She immediately saw that it was a message from Cedric.

There were two messages in total.

"I will support you in anything you do, except for what you last said. That's an exception."

After reading the second message, Noelle immediately locked her phone and did not reply to it. It was mainly because she had no idea what to say.

She was just joking about it earlier. But now, she chickened out.

Meanwhile, on the other end, Cedric was staring straight at his phone. He received no reply even as he stared until the screen went dark.

He pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheeks as he playfully cussed at Noelle for being a sly fox in his mind. Who taught her to flirt and then run, he wondered.

The next day, Noelle got up and put on a change of clothes before heading to the first floor.

She saw Xenia lounging on the couch like royalty with a new outfit while talking to Barnaby. "I feel a little nauseous, so I don't feel like eating any of these. Make sure you don't serve them from now on."

Barnaby hesitated for a while and replied, "These are all Ms. Liddell's favorites. I can prepare something else for you if you'd like."

The hidden meaning of his words was that Noelle's preferences would not be removed from the menu.
