When Sean heard this, he lowered his head and said nothing.

Noelle grew mad. "Speak up! Why are you so quiet now?"

"I messed up… I'm sorry."

"If you're sorry, do something to make up for it. It was the Merlock family who paid you, wasn't it?"

Noelle stared at Sean and snarled. "I want you to testify that the Merlock family hired you to commit the murder. As long as you do that, Xenia will be fine."

"You found out about the Merlock family?" Sean looked surprised. Then, he said, "I'll do whatever you ask. My only condition is that you spare my daughter."

Noelle didn't expect it to be that easy, and something felt off. She pressed, "What about the money?"
