Mia said, "The Merlock family has been making a lot of little moves lately. They've been digging into the Liddell family's affairs.

"I'm sure they're aware Xenia embezzled funds and caused the Liddell family's financial crisis. They'll definitely use that against you, so be careful."

Noelle replied, "I'm not concerned about the Liddell family anymore, but the Merlock family won't have time to dwell on it for long. Sean was caught today, and he agreed to turn himself in and testify against the Merlocks."

Mia was visibly delighted. "That's great news!"

Grace nodded along. "That's why justice prevails. They finally got caught."

"Exactly."

Despite all that, Noelle still had an uneasy feeling in her chest. Something didn't sit right with her, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Things were going a little too smoothly. Sean had agreed to name names from the Merlock family far too easily without asking for any special condition in return.

That night, while lying in bed, Noelle kept turning the situation over in her mind. If only she could remember what exactly happened during the car accident back then, she wouldn't have to worry about being tricked by Sean.

But no matter how hard she tried, her memory remained blank. It was frustrating.

When Noelle got up the next day, Mia came to her with new information. "They've found Mrs. Merlock. She's brought back to the Merlock family."

Noelle wasn't surprised since Cedric had promised he'd release Ruth yesterday. Now that they'd secured Xenia, it was just a matter of time before they were facing off with the Merlock family.

Mia hesitated briefly before saying, "It looks like the Merlock family called the cops. You and Cedric need to be careful."

Though Noelle had never told her outright that they were involved in Ruth's disappearance, Mia could guess it had something to do with Noelle and Cedric.
