Noelle immediately rushed in to stop Donovan when she realized that he was about to kill Sean. But Cedric pulled her back before she had even gotten close.

Cedric then ordered his men to pull Donovan aside, but Donovan was still glaring at Sean with bloodshot eyes, unwilling to back down just yet. "I'll fucking kill you!"

Sean was gasping for air after narrowly escaping death. He had no doubt that Donovan genuinely wanted to kill him. It was he who had caused the death of Donovan's parents after all.

Noelle looked at Donovan angrily and said, "What are you doing? Have you lost your mind? He's our most important piece of evidence! How are we supposed to take down the Merlocks if he dies?!"

She had waited far too long for the day when they could capture Sean and finally confront the Merlock family with solid evidence.

She could not believe that Donovan would do something so reckless. If anything were to happen to Sean now, all her years of planning would be for nothing.

Donovan was still blinded by hatred. He glared at Sean and shouted, "For all these years, every time my company ran into trouble, all I wanted to do was kill the person responsible for my parents' deaths!"

He would not have lived such a difficult life if it had not been for the car accident. Now that Donovan learned that the car accident was never just an accident but a deliberate act caused by Sean after being bribed with money, Donovan wanted nothing more than to kill him.

He wanted to tear Sean to literal pieces.

Sean gradually returned to his senses. He could still feel a searing pain in his neck as he looked at Donovan. "It's been a long time. Mr. Liddell."

Donovan's eyes turned bloodshot, ready to kill Sean at any given moment. "Shut your mouth! You have no right to call me that! My parents hired you out of kindness, but in the end, you betrayed them and got them killed!"

Sean replied, "Mr. Liddell, I was a gambling addict back then, and I still am one. I was truly grateful when your parents gave me a job, and I had really thought about turning over a new leaf.

"But who could have expected the Merlocks to set me up and make me owe them a huge sum of money? In the end, I had no choice but to follow their orders."
